What's your favorite Palpatine list?

Late to the game, but I finally got ahold of a Palpatine card. What's your favorite list with the big bad guy?

I like how aggressive this is. And with Palp on the Deci, no one would even bother with Whisper until late game. There's some nice psychology here.

This was never a top-tier list. It is fun to fly and a bugger to play against. I haven't used it in at least a year, but it is my favorite PalpAces.

With the errata on Palp playing him next ships with Lightweight Frame has proven to be pretty good.

I like your list in general, but I'm not a fan of either of these EPT choices.

Intensity is a half-baked gimmick on ships that can't token stack. VI or Expert Handling would both be good for Quickdraw in the 1-2 point range, or I would cut into the initiative bid and take a 3-point EPT.

Ruthlessness is probably fine on Kestal, and you could use it to give Quickdraw an extra attack, but personally I like EPT's that work more consistently. For the same points I would use Predator.

It works pretty well on QD in my experience. Use it to give him an Evade every time, only spend the token when you would take more than 1 damage to preserve his shields. This combined with Palpatine makes it very likely you get all 3 extra shots.

This is certainly not a must have. If you think you'll see lots of Fairship it is good, if not you're better off taking either VI or Expertise for sure. If you take VI it is probably worth upgrading the OGP to Yorr to open QD's dial quite a bit more, or add EU to OGP to make it turn a little better. There are some options for sure though.

I'm flying with this squadron to some championships, and for me it's been very effective.

Anybody flying any old school Palp Aces? Trying to figure out what to run with a shuttle and good ol' Vader.

Edit: Came up with a list idea, and I'm really curious to hear what you think. It's a little less "Palp Aces" and a little more of a Palp escort.

OGP: Palp, collision detector

Vader: VI, Title, ATC, Engine

Academy Pilot x3

This puts more dice on the table, and gives me blockers. Palpatine can prioritize Vader and keep him alive longer.

Palp doesn't really benefit from having lots of ships and you will never need 3 blockers. I think you should drop 2 academy pilots and use the 24 points for better stuff. There's a few things you can get for 24 points:

1) 20/21 point Striker (probably countdown since he can do fine naked, although a Black Squad Scout w/ crackshot ain't bad) + Cruise missiles on Vader = 23/24 points.

2) Zeta Leader w/ crackshot + comm relay = 24

3) Scimitar w/ rockets + LWF = 20. + Cruise missiles on Vader = 23.

4) Scimitar w/ title, Kylo Ren & Rebel Captive (or mara jade) = 22. Not much you can do with 2 points though. Probably Systems Officer on Palp's ride is best option...

Personally, I think #4 is probably best. Enemy can't afford to ignore that Shuttle bomber, because between Palp and Vader's ATC, you're getting plenty of crits for Kylo to abuse; and any ship that draws more aggro than a Palpmobile is definitely a good thing, especially when its cheaper!

Agree with above: more ships is not necessarily better with Palp. Try the list I took to Regionals this year and see what you like about it:

Vader - X1, adaptability, Engine Upgrade, ATC
Duchess - VI, Adaptive Ailerons, LightWeight Frame
Starkiller Base Pilot - Electronic Baffle, Palp, Hyperwave Comm Scanner

You can deploy your fleet out at PS9+ (put your Upsilon down at PS12 opposite corner to the opponent's fleet). Adapt vader up to PS10 to match Duchess. Use Upsilon to coordinate for Vader and Duchess if need (barrel rolls or boosts). Dodge arcs like mad. Throw lots of dice. Palp a bunch. Its a fun list :) You can see how I played it on the back to dials youtube archive, check 2017 Denver regionals I think round 3. Baffle is ridiculously cool with a 0 stop and 12 health.
