"something big is coming?"
So it's a new product as in a new game or just a new item? I could see any of the following:
X-Wing tie-in 2-player core set (Kylo Ren's ship, new A-Wing)
Destiny tie-in 2-player box set ("all you need to play SW: Destiny")
SW Card game 2-player set
My feeling is that this would be something even a casual fan who isn't playing these games will buy. I'd be surprised if it's not a 2-player set so it can be considered "self contained".
This does look like the "something big" they mentioned though.
Maybe I'm pretty negative, but I don't think the show us more Armada stuff
If you want to avoid being disappointed, dont Hope. The article didnt Even mention armada. Embrace the overfliwing Joy of the moment When you find out there is something for us too if we get something, but expect nothing.
There are a couple of discussions about this in various places. But if you look at the wording of the announcement, they use the word product. New product.
Then in second paragraph they use X wing and Destiny as types of product. You have to assume from that that it's not just a wave announcement for one of the existing games. May be wrong based on FFG's use of the English language at times though :-)
And in one of the other threads there is a $30 price tag floating around, info from a FLGS. Who seemingly haven't been told what it is either, just been given a price.
Well if true the $30 price would eliminate an Armada product being in the mix. And if the expectation is it will be released on force Friday, probably not anything significant for armada either.
I'm really happy with the Wave 7 announcement, its probably the most exciting since wave 2 for me.
Wait and see!
I can confirm FLGSs were told it's Star Wars, $29.99 retail, and if I recall my discussion properly, 6 came in a box.
No other details were given.
This confirms my lunch box theory.
$30 could be a two player starter set for Destiny, an "Aces" pack for X-wing, or a source book or beginner game (unlikely as we have a Force Awakens beginner game) for the RPG. It's most likely too cheap to be Armada. IA has never had a $30 expansion. Rebellion could potentially have a Sequal Trilogy update, though I doubt it. And from what I'm told the LCG is dying (I saw this somewhere I'm sorry if it is just the usual "my game is dying!" thing.)
I think Destiny is the best bet or some new stand alone game. I'd doubt they would make stores blindly order X-wing, Armada, or IA expansions for Force Friday. It has to be something folks can buy and play out of the box.
Edited by ThrindalMy gut instinct is something for Imperial Assault. At gencon Armada had the 'something big' speech and got wave 7 a week later. IA just had a comment about the App. All other main games got new stuff. IA is therefore still in the cold and they were unlikely to announce IA stuff to compete against the Legion announcement.

IA's new expansion box is also on the Boat and about to be delivered in a matter of weeks. They've already got their stuff and info, they're just waiting to play it.

FFG played us on words. "Big" is a synonym for "Grand" - their big announcement was "Grand Admiral Thrawn."
I think we all know what it is. Finally, after such a long time of waiting...
