If you are going against just a lord Hawthorne and he has one wound on him, will this kill him off? I understand if you're going against spearmen with a FLRG in there and you get accuracy and hit him for one wound, this will kill him off. My question is does this also work against heroes like Hawthorne and Kari alone?

I don't see why not. They're still figures, they just get the whole tray to themselves.

Combo with Maro + Fortunas Dice for maximum effect. Excises embedded rune golems and heroes fast.

Hawthorne would be a unit, not a figure, if he isn't embedded would he not?

Follow up question then... Let's say I have a 3x3 of reanimates with an executioner in it. I dial in attack against Lord Hawthorne and modifier skill action. Do I attack, then do the skill? So could I theoretically attack get him wounded and execute him at the same time.

Well you need to dial in a skill. And it takes up the Champion slot, which is a competitive slot.

You can kill things in one hit. lol Hawthorne in one hit... what's better than that?

Not if you have an executioner. Mine certainly wouldn't.

Hopefully mine doesn't think about it. if nothing else, a nice deterrent, run him in a group next to something else and let him be the fear of God to my enemy!

All units even the solo ones are figures so yes it works.

Reason not many run it is because it takes the Champion slot and unless its a hero or a Siege it does nothing right now. Come Uthuk i guarantee that bastard will appear in a LOT of waiqar lists (Oh look at this he has 3 Threshors! *whack, execute* one... *whack, execute* two....)
