Missing SKU

By Andyh19, in Star Wars: Armada

I'm calling it.

SWM20 will be the SSD!

SWM 28 will be the Viscount!

So excited!

The most famous one is X-Wing with their #20 SKU, SWM-20

It was going to be a set of cardboard tiles in order to make up a space based map. However, after mockups (and perhaps even prototypes) were made, including an advertisement splash... The product was Cancelled without Fanfare, Notice or Release... it only took some digging before a subsequent confirmation came forth.

Ohey, I found its announcement pre-cancellation:

Oh yeah I remember seeing that.

I'm with you! Finally those ships will actually get some good service compared to what they recieved in.... *shudders* starship battles...

Where is it cannon? Not questioning you just curious to know where they canonized that.

"Tarkin", the first Canon book, canonized 3 other types of gravity well ship, including the Immobilizer 418, the Victory SD, the Ton Falk style escort carrier (the description was spot on, only the name "Ton Falk" wasn't used,) Venators and V-wings in use by the Empire alongside ISDs and TIEs, Mon Cal pleasure cruise ships, Rebels using reconditioned and rebuilt CIS ships and droid starfighters, and I believe the existence of Carrack class cruiser as well.

It is a gold mine of recanonization for older Star Wars fans.

Thanks. I haven't read tarkin but have heard it's a huge source for recanonized ships. Great into. I need to read it if I ever get any time....

Yeah that game was terrible. Minis were also sub par. Bent, disformed but durable. Everything attacks anywhere they want and at the end the fighters were always left chasing each other around. I added range and shields to that game and it improved a lot but was still terrible compared to Armada. I second the (shudders).... So bad

No, 3 gravity well ships. Including the 418 (comma) Victory SD.

I honestly couldn't remember the names, and didn't feel like looking them up.

Necro'ed like a pro

We since we are on the subject...

SWM28... Viscount or Clone Wars core set?... Or something unexpected/unspoiled entirely?

Whats the SKU on RitR?

SWM31. You can read them all on the official products page .

CC is 25, Quasar and Hammerheads are 26 and 27, Chimaera and Profundity are 29 and 30.

had a quick look* and didnt see it

*I stress the word quick - i'm in work so can get away with forums but pretty pictures of models... not so much 😛

It's hiding in a different section; under Campaign Expansions just below the normal ones.

Yes RitR is 31. So 28 is still unspoiled.

I'd guess the rebel equiv of the SSD.

Given 26-30 are all either from Rebels or Rogue One (or both, in one case), and products are given SKUs based on when they are being worked on, I'm going to guess it's something from Rebels.

So...my guess is that SWM28 is the "Imperial Support Vessel"/Dreadnought or a Dornean Gunship flotilla.

But if it's a ship that would be in a wave like that they would release at least two ships. One for each faction. I think it has to be some kind of stand alone product. But you could be right and SWM32 is it's counterpart

So now that we have the Starhawk and Onager announcement as SWM32 and SWM33, are people still thinking SWM28 is still an upcomming release?

Or can we just assume whatever it was, it has been scrapped?

Never! I correctly predicted that SWM20 was the SSD for over a year, before we got confirmation.

No SKU left behind!

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised that these two are the SWM32 and SWM33. It means they were the next things up in FFG's work queue from where we are. I would have put money down that these were later in the production pipe and got bumped up, with Clone Wars stuff skipped over for the time being (or other Rebels/film stuff - Dornean Gunship, Dreadnought/ISV, etc). That these WERE the next up is...a huge surprise to me.

Perhaps these are going to be on-screen in Episode 9 and they had to wait to present them until now?

Or FFG was told they couldn't release more Armada stuff until the SSD was out the door.

Maybe SWM28 is the Clone Wars Core Set?
