If you find that insulting, that's on you.

Kiddo, you aren't important enough to insult me. It's like getting called a "Doodyhead" by a poorly socialized gradeschooler. I'm just here to educate you on how to interact with people in a social setting without getting defensive and pouty. You're not learning, but if you keep coming to the lessons, I'm a good teacher.

Wow. Just wow.

The Gozanti is 63.8 meters in length while the Gauntlet is 52.3 meters in length. Wouldn't call that bigger.

edit: official Star Wars website doesn't list an official gozanti length that I could find, but does say that Kom'rk (or Gaunlet) fighters are 52.3 meters in length.

68 meters on wookepedia for komrks. the "Gauntlet" is a modified smaller version

The ship just seems bafflingly oversized. How do you call something bigger than a Decimator a 'starfighter'?

because "the shuttle Maul fled Mandalore on" sounds lame and marketing is dumb. Maul rides the thing twice for maybe 60 seconds of screentime in rebels and everyone is convinced this thing is an all powerful death machine. and while it looks okay if you like teal, but it doesnt look like star wars.

Only on the legends version of the article. The canon article only lists it as the 52 length, which is sourced to the official Star Wars Database. The name Gauntlet and Kom'rk are interchangeable as that is what Kom'rk means in the Mandalorian language.

actually, it gets a lot of screen time in the season 3 finale, being flown by Clan Wren troops and escorted by Protectors.

and it had a very large amount of time in Clone Wars, where Deathwatch got to show them being fairly potent.

that said, i suspect part of the 'aura of awesomeness' it has for some folks is the fact it is a mandalorian ship, and the fan perception of mandalorians tends to be on the powerful side.. whether you are a fan or not.

While we have been on opposite sides on several issues, I would like to strongly encourage you not to respond to VaeVictis's last post. He's not worth the time.

Maybe not, but it looks just like a bigger version of the Protectorate Starfighter. And that's already in the game.

Indeed - that it appears in 'Rebels' is really just a bonus.

It got A LOT of screen time during the 'Clone Wars' series.

But keep in mind that we haven't seen the end of it, yet. Ezra was flying it at the end of season 3 - near as can be told, nothing happened to it, so it's still his to fly around. IE., will probably show up in season 4, too.

Given how Ezra will be playing a bigger role in the mandalorian arc, going by the trailer for season 4, i suspect it will.

the deathwatch ones in clone wars are not the same ships asthetically as the one maul has in rebels. i think thats where the 68 meters/52 meters discrepency comes from. i watched clone wars 4 times through and had no clue the ship maul showed up in for Rebels was suposed to be the same class(and i watch both shows for the ships). the clone wars ship was sooooo much cooler

What, did you think I was trying to disguise my contempt for people who act like petulant children? If that was unclear, hopefully it isn't now, lol. I'm not here to make friends with people like that, and I certainly don't care if you don't like me. The quality of my contribution here is easily demonstrated by my 2:1 Like:Post ratio. What have you been doing wrong? ;) Other than trying to pretend you're better than me because I will put people in their place when they step out of line.

1) dude you arent a warrior.

2) message boards dont have victors

3) if they did it wouldnt be you because you're trying too hard

4) the topic here is a cool spaceship (the guantlet) and wether or not it would fit in X-wing.

5) I assume you are some sort of 4chan chat algorythm that was cancelled in beta

6) its okay. we accept you despite this. just relax, and STAY ON TARGET

Ehhhh...huh?

From the episode where Pre Viszla leads an attack on Mandalore (Clone Wars)..

ACW_IA_109271_FEATURE.jpg

...from 'Rebels'...

990d4054c28fae4301c7e8e23fd8777b.png

Totally the same ship.

I mean, heck, the working art for it notes that Maul's ship uses the Clone Wars CGI model, with some slight revisions (note the annotation to the right):

303-bts-gallery-reb_ca_1666_3ab10847.jpe

and there is no 'guantlet class'.. there is only the Kom'rk class. (which is mando'a for 'Guantlet', and that is just easier for some fans to remember), and the named Ship 'Guantlet' used by Pre Visla.

and while there are size discrepancies in the supplementary materials for Legends, leading the overly inclusive legends continuity to the creation of two versions in order to not throw out what was obviously an incorrect figure, the canon is clear, there is only the 52.3 meter version.

Well, anyone who knows me, and lots of people do but you can be forgiven because my e-fame is only minor, knows I was a Marine weapons instructor and security trainer for ten years serving both in Iraq and Afghanistan. So, well, sorry if you were never awesome, but you'd do well to not make any assumptions about other people.

This is the same mistake those other clowns made. Knives to gunfights. Maybe learn the lesson. Respect others and you will get respect. Don't, and you don't get to cry when someone else is better at being a jerk than you are. As the Texan wise men Pantera once elucidated, walk on home, boy.

Wild theory

There was The Gauntlet, which inspired the Kom'rk class... One was basically designed as a one of a kind weapon, but it worked and so they made a class of ships with the same design, altering it slightly, correcting mistakes, whatnot.

Not canon, but should be.

Dude... so pathetic.

NOBODY GIVES a flying **** about you being a marine, it's not a card that applies here. Its a game, and you are being a ****. end of story.

But you didn't show respect to others. Even if you felt "provoked" by my comment about n-1's, you still disrespected the opinion of others who like the N-1 star fighter. Then you demanded respect for your opinion on the Star Wars cartoons and designs from it. That is a pretty hypocritical thing to do there.

Let's be clear here. I don't care about your personal opinions on design of ships. You are perfectly entitled to those. But when you disrespect the opinions of others then demand that same respect, I have a problem with that.

I have a lot of respect for the Marine Corps and genuinely thank you for your service. But that doesn't mean I have to treat everything you say with the same respect. In fact, your behavior here has been some of the worst I have seen on this forum, including the likes of Paragoomba Slayer. I can honestly say I have more respect for PGS than you right now.

With that, I'm done with this. This has been a fruitless exchange. I am not a beaten enemy that needed "putting in their place". I'm done because you are worth the effort. Probably not even of this last post, but that's neither here nor there.

Theoretically, makes sense.

nope.. it is just a case of one book published when information was scarce stating one size, and then official information coming out later with a corrected size. since the old EU kept everything, even the mistakes and errors, the incorrect size got listed as a 2nd version of the class, instead of just being corrected.

same reason the EU/legends had two sizes of Executor class super star destroyer.. the 8km one (which appeared in the old RPG based on faulty analysis of ESB and RotJ footage, and was subsequently used for a lot of EU content), and the proper 19km size the filming and design teams for ESB and RotJ had used, which only came out in official products after the special edition releases and the start of a more coherent merchandising content guide.

since the EU/legends never throws anything out, we wound up with the same SSD's simultaneously being both 8km and 19km depending on which product you looked at (and when they came out). and a multitude of different writer's convoluted attempts to shorehorn the two together (much like you are doing above), all of which also conflicted.

much like Pre Visla's kom'rk class "Guantlet", which had two different sizes depending on which product you looked at. yet they were the same ship, and only the 52.3 meter size appeared in a current canon source.

so just drop the incorrect size. you'll spend a lot less time arguing, and have a lot less headaches.
