From out of nowhere... Wave VII!

My money is on either Palleon, or maybe Vanto from the new book?

Well, I think most people saw these ships coming. Even though this is probably what they meant by "something big is coming"

I am still holding out for an SSD.

Vanto never had the rank. Pellaeon would be awesome, but judging from the fleet command intensify forward firepower in the pack, my money is on Piett.

Piett was never shown on an ISD, let alone the Chimaera.

Honestly though, it could go either way.

I am saddened they only considered the Rebels content... Vanto would be amazing to have as an officer. Agree with Lupine, he didn't have the ranks. Only recognition he received was from Thrawn, who considered him worthy to be sent to the Chiss navy, so hoping to get something from there...

I heard that X-Wing released their "Epic" ships in between waves.

An SSD release for the Holiday season?

Maybe they are planning on giving us Piett on this ISD because we will get Palpatine with the SSD.

Who knows....... My wallet will be thin regardless!

So I'm assuming the repaint ISD will be legal to use in place of a standard ISD model and vice-versa, is that correct?

Due to the way I acquired my starter collection, I actually have an extra ISD pack with everything but the model itself (seller chose to keep the model as a display item but included all the other components for free with the rest of the armada stuff). I wasn't too keen on the idea of buying a third ISD just to occasionally run triple ISDs but with this new expansion actually providing some value in the form of new cards it's much more desirable.

More ISD options will lead to more ISDs taken in Imp lists, which looks much more Star Wars to people in game stores watching us play (when they don't already know about Armada). This is a very good thing. Plus I cringe internally whenever I play an Imp list that doesn't have an ISD in it... just feels slightly wrong. This wave looks fantastic so far!

Soooo...

SIs anyone else excited by the potential for ISD- TASK FORCE TITLES in the back there?

I'm excited at the thought of KILLING task force ISDs?

Yeah, if my Rebel Experience with Task Forces have taught me anything, its "Good Luck With That."

Could the seventh fleet possilbly affect commad stacks with nearby ships from the seventh fleet? SWITCH DIALS FROM STACKS?!?!? COMPLETELY COUNTER SLICERS ?!?! DO I HEAR AN ALLELUJAH BROTHERS?

It's official. Wave VII is flipping the game upside down.

Did anyone else notice an additional commander comes with Thrawn?

Where?

In the image showing the ship and cards, flipped faced down to the left of Thrawn.

This will be AWESOME!!!!!

Are the current fleet command cards rebel only?

Seriously, I'm having a fangasm... Chimaera? 2 new ISD variants to play with? And I get 3 of each so I don't have to buy 2 expansions? THRAWN? VADER BOARDING PARTY?!?!?!! It looks like they went all-in with this expansion.

I can't wait to see what Profoundity holds.

No.

In fact, one of them - Entrapment Formation! - is included in the Chimera pack as well

It certainly looks like it. I am assuming the text will be something like:

"At the start of the ship phase, you may discard this card or spend a concentrate fire token. Until the end of the round, when a friendly ship makes an attack against an enemy ship from its frontal arc, it may add one die of any colour to the attack pool"

Not a bad guess.

BAD NEWS ON THE FONT FRONT

"Intensify Forward Firepower!"

"Entrapment Formation!"

Check those out.

Intensify Forward Firepower takes up more Room than Entrapment does, yet, the exposed lettering is larger.

This means it will be a mere "Intensify Firepower!" instead.

You have keen eyes my friend.

The ship icon on the new ship cards looks the same as on the ISDs - so the models should be interchangeable. If not that would mean the titles weren't interchangeable either - and there'd be no point in the pack coming with 3 of each of the new ship cards (and, hopefully, ship tokens). So the Chimaera is the same ship, just with new cards and tokens.

I can't believe we're not talking about the fact that both the Raddus card and the Profundity card allow the Rebel player to designate two ships (one of any size, the other with a command of 1 like a CR90 or Hammerhead) to be deployed later in the game as a reinforcement. Sure, you start with less ships, but imagine how much of a game changer it will be when the Rebel commander calls in an additional MC80 and corvette at point blank range and unleash a torrent of firepower on an ISD. It's gonna be wicked cool!!

And if I manage to blow up the flagship before it deploys that MC80, I just netted a bunch of points for free

This is why they deploy to trap you as you approach the flagship, as another Mon Calamari would say "IT'S A TRAP!"
