How to fight Dengar??

Doesnt dengar have a 360 arc? Does his ability only apply to front arc?

360 arcs don't exist.

Arcs exist as printed on the base, and some ships have the ability to fire outside them.

His ability only applies to ships in his arc.

So Is a 360 ability different then a rear auxiliary arc in case such a attack range bonus? Thanks for the help.

Primary Weapon Turrets (JM5k, YT1300, non-Outrider YT2400, K Wing, Decimator) are the same as any other primary weapon when it comes to range bonuses. The only thing different between them and e.g. an x-wing is that their primary weapon attacks can be made outside their arc.

Secondary weapons (those which can fire out of arc arc currently Turret upgrades, Outrider, Nera Dantels' pilot ability, Hot Shot BLaster) do not trigger range bonuses, fo rrange 1 attack or range 3 defence)

Auxiliary arcs are arcs.

Primary weapon turrets can fire outside arc.

Arc is a keyword meaning 'the area between the lines printed on the ship's base'. It is not synonymous with 'where a ship can shoot', which can often include areas outside the printed arc.

Okay, more specifically, has anyone had success against him using other meta staples, i.e. Nym (Rebel), Poetensity, Miranda, etc. and how do you kill him with those tools?
I'm mostly interested in Miranda+Nym - there doesn't seem to be enough fire-power to take him out before he decimates Miranda..

Miranda Nym needs to control him. Assuming Nym is using AC ABT Bomblet Engine VI Genius (Personally I prefer TLT but YMMV) then Miranda needs to be equipped with ions. Conner Nets and Thermals probably, maybe even ICT. Combatting a standard dengar effectively requires you to rob him of his ability to do green moves, and ideally also stress him.

Ionise him, he doesn't get K4 AND you know where he'll be so you can stay out of arc.

Ionise and stress him and he gets no mods the following round.

Conversely, you can fairly easily just bomb him to death. Catch him with a Cluster and a bomblet, then ABT him, with Sabine you have a reasonable chance of killing him in one turn. (Average dice won't, average dice only costs him 7 - one per bomb token, one Sabine, 2 ACABT - but a little above average and you can do it.

Ryad and a naked Lambda works great. Have had awesome success against Dengar with Omnicron-Ryad-Brath or Omnicron-Ryad-Omega Leader

Thanks much for the help.

I've had the best luck against him with my new A-Wing list that I fly. Pincer approach means I get to melt him down fast.

As mentioned, I have started to set up obstacles in columns on the board when facing large-based ships. Works wonders to make them fly bad (and thus, preventing his ability).

Quickdraw never failed to deliver so far when matched agains Dengar Lists. When Dengar and Quickdraw shoot at each other a Spiral of death starts. So far I nearly always came out winning.

Played at 4 tournaments against (2 Store Championships, 1 big Game Night Kit with 28 people and one small tournament with only 13 opponents):

Dengar / Tel (first time I faced that list) LOST

Dengar / Tel (another tournament) WON

Dengar / Assaj WON

Dengar / Manaroo / Assaj WON

Dengar / Fenn WON

Absolutly important is to keep him in Frontarc with Quickdraw. When I play against Dengar I use my Omega Leader as blocker. Worked wonders so far. Vessery (D with Ion Canon) and Quickdraw then kill Dengar off as fast as possible.

It is possible! Good flying skills are important. And to know when NOT to shot at Dengar.

I have the same experience. Probably because at around 20 point cheaper, Quickdraw will put out the same damage output as Dengar for a turn (In a range 1 joust). If you can focus fire with your list, Dengar is likely to die, leaving you a badly damaged/dead Quickdraw and 60 points of your list vs 40-50 points of your opponents list. Having an initiative bid is pretty important (and Expertise is also pretty awesome) to help you control the range of the engagement, and later, dodge Dengar's arc to win trades with ease.

In my past 10 games vs Dengar I have only lost about 2 (`By memory).

QD has the potential to actually out-mod Dengar if he's packing Expertise or AS2S on Dengar. FCS>K4 in context.
