Oh, I got an email response ages ago on that. It was a very complicated licensing thing.

Efectively, the only images that FFG could use (with the exception of promotional purposes) are those images that they had specified for the RPGs.

That is why the Star Wars RPGs have linked and associated forum images, but X-Wing and Armada does not - the images used effectively for Armada and X-Wing Primarily are licensed and purchased to be used for a specific subset of promotional material (generally advertisements, marketing and box art), of which the Forum Avatars as a complex customer service electronic platform do not conform to.

Which is why the X-Wing ones were removed previously.

Runewars, however, are their own effective IP, so they can do whatever the **** they want with it.

X-wing - FFG's prized child - also doesn't have forum avatars. I think it has something to do with LFL.

This is why in 5 years we're getting Dark Heresy treatment. Lol i actually bought ALL of the dark heresy 2nd ed books a week before they announced they were discontinuing it.
