Super Vulture Droid fighters for my HOTAC Campaign!

By Refugeanoth, in X-Wing

Need to do trifighters and hyenas next, but I'm pretty stoked about flying against these guys! In our next mission arc, IG-88 downloads himself into a derelict separatist droid factory and starts augmenting and upgrading old droid designs with his personal killing touches and the intent of conquering the galaxy. The Super vulture he upgrades to be a larger, more heavily armed, armored and independent killing machine that's less dependent on swarm tactics than the original!

My personal thought regarding Pilot skill is giving a title to one that makes it the leader with a high PS level and then the others are linked to it with a reduced but higher score, that reduces highly if the leader is destroyed

Cool idea! Someone on reddit actually pointed out that the title as it is doesn't work, sicne the first vulture would fly out of range of the swarm at ps4 and would reduce all the others in the swarm to ps3 and they would miss their activation, so I'll have to rework it.

Came up with this to give them some teeth since as they are, they wouldnt pose anything more than a mild annoyance to the squadron.

Well with mine it's kind of a spin on a coordinating concept. Basically range doesn't matter since only one is the leader and controlling the others as a repeater and when it's destroyed the unit losses most effectiveness

Nice cards.

I think these droid ships deserve an exclusive upgrade, though. Here is my take:

PS: didn't the Empire destroy every CIS droid on sight? I believe they are more fitting for Scum.

With as many of them as were out there and the empire having to cover the entire galaxies worth of territory I figured it would make sense that they would reprogram a few of them to use on their outposts. And the rebels would use absolutely anything they could get their hands on with there being precedent from the Thrawn Novel and Nightswan using them to tremendous effect.

Dig the modules! Is there any canon reason they would have something like adaptable computers, or is this just your creation? I was under the impression they were more of a mass-produced, all the same sort of craft.

The (now Legend) sources say these droids could evolve with time. Some of them eben got some "personality"

Interesting!

Here is my take on the droids, albeit more of the droids. I posted this a while back. There is stuff here for the Vulture, Tri-Fighter, Hyena, and Gunship.

I like what you got though. Love the models. Where did you get them?

They're micromachines from the gold series set that comes with a scimitar, an n1 and one of these. Dig your interpretation! I like to think that there were so many of these things around during the clone wars it's likely there would be hundreds of different variants and hundreds of thousands of droids around after the clone wars ended.
