Maybe the name "Legion" is a stealth jab at GW and their Legiones Astartes. (aka space marine legions)

Adeptus Astartes. The Legions were from the old days of the Horus Heresy.

I know, but have you noticed how GW is getting a lot more HH flavour in the last few releases? We got 3 primarchs back! Also chaos space marines have "Legion" keywords.

A thought: fielding a host of troops requires a massive table. That's not bad. Not at all. This idea of a legion battle is simple and focuses on a small section of the larger battle. Think of it as though you were watching a movie like, say Return of the Jedi. You don't see the troopies in their entirety. You see snapshots here or there. This is the heart of Legion. For those that want an epic experience, well, I guess I see your point. It would be cool, don't get me wrong. I have a feeling, though, that some enterprising players with a 3d printer will adequately provide for a fantastic experience. Maybe it's just that I am an old, old man, but I say adapt and overcome. Make this game work! It has the high potential to offer a rewarding experience. And let's put the epic play to rest. Please.

You know that would be 236 feet of stormtroopers if you put laid them out end to end. Volume wise you could make several life sized stormtroopers out of that much material. If you put 6 models per 1 inch square base, you'd have 1,000 feet of bases.

To be fair the Republic called the Clone Wars that (aside from some newer material where they've called it Clone War) so maybe in that universe Wars and War are exchangable so long as the battle takes place on more than just one planet.
