Back Story in the Core Box

By Shu2jack, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

With the gameplay excitement of GenCon I forgot to ask;

Does a core contain a background story or history of Rokugan? If so, anything different from the previous version of the game?

It has a physical copy of the Learn to Play document. So all the backstory and setting details from that.

The L2P in the core has a 1 page blurb on each clan, as well as a story about the Lion messing with the Crane.

And as for setting changes, beyond what has already been discussed, the basics of everything is still the same.

So far I think it's safe to assume that things are more or less the same, except when they aren't.

Based on how much they've changed so far, I don't think that's a safe assumption at all. It will just lead to people being confused as they make an assumption about something just for FFG to reveal some time later that it's not really true.

It's probably better to just go with what we know to be true from published material, and assume everything else is an unknown.

It really depends on what you consider important. If you're thinking of history, geography, and culture. (Ya know rpg stuff) Next to nothing has been changed. (So far) From a purely Story perspective, yeah they've altered quite a bit ??
