Do you still use him? I had not given much table time and heard that his popularity has fallen off as the game progresses but I'm starting to see him as still powerhouse. I know a lot of people play him with Honor Guard, or Fortune and Fate/Landroval recycling. What's your approach?
Hero Beorn
I love bears so I love Beorn, so I've been playing decks with him as a hero for as long as I've had him. The best one so far has been this one: http://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/128/ the-bear-and-the-maidens-fair-cotr-deckbox-1.0 I feel it's really complete and works well in most standard scenarios
Houses of Healing also for recycling.
I use him frequently in a trap deck. It uses tactics Aragorn, whose defense debuff is one of the only good ways to effectively boost Beorn's damage. The traps aim at mitigating damage. Ambush to attack before you get attacked, Entangling Nets to reduce the incoming damage. The new side quest Keep Watch has Beorn written all over it, but I haven't tried it yet. Vigilant Guard is a major game-changer for him as well. Every time he gets hit, you can redirect damage, no exhaustion or anything else necessary. Amazing that it's not limited once per phase or something. Combine Vigilant Guard with one or more Honour Guards and you vastly improve his staying power. Add in the resurrect cards and he feels downright stable.
Beorn is a great aggro card, I usually build that deck when I get hit with a scenario that needs a combat deck to hit hard early on. Aragorn + Beorn swing for 9 right from round 1 (factoring in that defense debuff).
Hey farealh, the only card I don't have to build your deck (other than only having one Horn of Gondor and one Unexpected Courage) is the Galadhon Archer. Can you recommend other allies that could possibly take the place of that one? Thanks
@farealh Wow, I was feeling really cool because of Beorn deck and thats almost the same deck, card for card lol. Check it out and compare, I hadn't even published it yet.

@GrandSpleen Using with Tactics Aragorn is a cool idea, I dont have the lost realm yet though. I knew about the Honor Guard + Beorn combo, but I have not seen this Vigilant Guard yet. Is that to be released?
No, it's been out for a while. But it is a more recent card.

People also use ally Dori with him, who can intercept his damage and then can be healed. I have never made use of that combo though.

This is not my deck, but when I didn't have the Galadhon Archers I used Trollshaw Scout and it's actually a pretty good replacement (even better than the Archers in some situations

The decklist I posted it's not mine but yeah, it's definitely a great way to use Beorn so I'm not surprised you came up with something similar. "Great minds think alike" and all that Besides, I love combining Tactics and Spirit, as it tends to give a more "rounded" deck IMO.
