Finally got to play! (Useless gush post)

By Yellow 5, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

So I'd been sitting on this game since my Birthday, months ago. However, we were selling/buying a home so I finally got it to the table last weekend. I knew I'd love it because I had seen play through videos and read about it, but it EXCEEDED all my expectations. I can't imagine how much fun it will be when I can find/coerce some more people to play. Just as I started to think man, this is too easy; I always find an out...WHAM! Time to resign LOL.

/Gushing

I just ordered the core set, first expansions and a few quests. Super excited to try it, I too was sold on the how to play videos. As a big fan of lord of the rings the living card game I realized that it could be fun to try something new. If it's half as good as LOTRTLCG, I will be happy!

What if it's twice as good?

I just played through The Dunwich Legacy campaign, and rarely has a game had me actually emotionally invested at times.
I felt genuinely stressed at times, balancing the game timer with resources and objectives, nearing Defeat and the Objective at the same time.

An incredible design, that can marry setting to mechanisms in such a way that it blossoms into an experience, more than a game.
Wonderful stuff.

I've just order this too after sitting on the fence; looking forward to it!

If you're like me, once everything starts clicking you'll wonder what in the world was possibly keeping you on the fence!

I think the moment it REALLY got its hooks in me is when the game basically destroyed us and I was feeling frustrated about having to reset the scenario but then realized you basically never LOSE, you just carry forward with the game changed by your success/failure. That was the real AHA moment for me on how cool this game could be

I hope so; big fan of AGOT lcg (and basically anything FFG touches) but hardly never get to play that since I'm not into tournaments but have had some fun linking games together; sounds like Arkham has this type of thing built in.

Hopefully it's on it's way now and I'll be playing later this week!

It's the first game I've ever embraced as a solo game too. It lends itself to that in a way most games don't. Normally I'm a guy who switches to video games if I'm solo but right now this is my go to solo experience. I just love playing out the narratives. It's like I'm playing tabletop RPG or something.

I've been collecting everything for this game for most of the year now and I just finally embraced it as a solo experience. I had a hard time finding anyone to invest the time and play with me so despite having two core sets/the two player mat, and all the expansion content most of my stuff just sat there. So happy I opted to organize everything and play by myself it's been a fun time getting through dunwich before carcosa arrives next week.
