'Kimoglia' is not hard to say or spell correctly [Irony Not Lost]

By MalusCalibur, in X-Wing

So can we please not start giving it a stupid nickname? It screams laziness to not even bother to try and spell it right, especially when there is nothing ambiguous or difficult about doing so - it's practically phonetic.

We went through this nonsense for the Kihraxz (also not difficult to get right) and there's no need to repeat it.

EDIT: I honestly read the name as 'Kimoglia' rather than 'Kimogila' when I've seen it in publication. So yes, the irony of complaining about spelling when I switched two letters around is palpable. But the overall point stands.

Kimolgia? Klimolga? Kal El?

I... just... can't... do... it...

Kimmy. Let's call it Kimmy.

I'm going to call mine Kimberley.

I'm fond of Bullseye.

I wanna call it the gila-monster.

I'm gonna call it the gila-monster.

Sorry pal.

I'm going to call them "Colin Ferrell".

We'll call the ships by their names when FFG releases recognizable ships with names that make sense!

TIE fighter : OK

YT-2400 : acceptable naming system

Khiraxz : sefølipINHÅ

:P

gila = crazy in malay.

tis a crazy ship

or we can call it Kimboslice after the famous MMA fighter

Exactly, I don't have any problem with Kikimora just like I never had any problem with Kfasdjkfhsa.

SWG pilots usually called it a "Kimo".

My only worry is if we call it the Gila Monster people won't know how to pronounce that either. People are dumb.

I will say I love the irony at play here.

For those not aware, you can edit your thread title as well as the body of the post. Helpful when calling out how easy something is to spell, but making a spelling mistake in doing so.

SCUMboat is easier to spell

I'm sure that's something you'd now appreciate from any nickname ;)

Wow, is it actually Kimogila? Ok fair enough, reading comprehension failure on my part for that.

The point does still stand, though - no need to shorten it to 'Kimo Therapy' or anything equally daft when the name is straightforward. The point about spelling is partially because of the Kihraxz, since spelling that was apparently too difficult for folks not to resort to faceplanting into their keyboard rather than even try. And hey, at least I only got two letters switched round rather than add a bunch of nonexistant syllables.

But if it is used in a counter to Stage Four, then we are obligated to call it Kimo Therapy...
