I don't get it. Wasn't Destiny ALREADY a two player game? Last time I went to my LGS there were two people playing!

The original Destiny starter boxes weren't really enough for two people to play. You had to buy two, and even then, they weren't ideal for deck building. This box has two pre-made decks so two people can just sit down and play.

It's also saving me thirty bucks tomorrow.

It was a game for two players simultaneously, but you couldn't start together and was therefore as unbalanced as the force prior to Qui Gon's meddling. Single player starter packs meant someone always had a head start and that's just never fair. With this 2-player starter pack the game is now fully balanced with each player having identical playtime when they face off.

Doubtful. No way will there not be a TIE/VN and Resistance A-Wing in this game.

Looks like my source was correct! ;)

I think something will be announced tomorrow.

It's a two player starter. The other starters are one player each.

Lol FFG really knows its customers..

*insert biggest disappointed sigh ever*

They do, which is why this is a smart move.

Xwing is pretty stable for them (although if they continue to power creep the game, that may not be the case).

Destiny, on the other hand, has a prime opportunity for growth. This is a great way to try to tap into a deeper market.

We should be getting at least a preview article for the TLJ additions to Wave 12.

Well...except for the whole speaking with your mouth full bit. But your heart is in the right place!

This isn't really any different from what I can tell. It's basically just 2 starter decks packaged together. You could have bought one of each starter for Awakenings for the same price and had basically teh same thing, 2 premade decks to sit down and play. This doesn't give you full 3 card decks, and it doesn't give you 2 dice to play elite for all 4 characters, so you STILL need 2 of it to get fully playable decks (or packs from elsewhere, same as the original starters)

Unless they don't preview all the new ships in the merch launch. All I have seen so far is characters, not ships and whatnot, in the images. While I think it would be super weird for them to hold those back for any reason, if there WAS some reason to hold back the ships then FFG would almost assuredly have to hold their announcement until that 'official reveal'.

But, but, alternate art and more Rey and Kylo..!
Sorry.. I don't see the appeal of Destiny and feel righteous in poking fun at it on the X-Wing forum ...

We already have gotten a good look at the TIE Silencer and a toy of the new A-wing is out. With these already known and prime candidates for X-Wing, I would be super surprised if they were not the TLJ additions to Wave 12.

That said, the possibility of nothing tomorrow does exist.

I was idly interested in it, star wars and then dice plus card game hooked me for a moment.

Then I saw it was collectible, I laughed and have read nothing else about it. So stupid to release something on that model, after making so many games that use the vastly superior LCG model. I will never play Destiny and I think anyone that does buy in is being foolish.

I know I've seen those, but were they 'officially announced'? (I honestly don't know) From Disney's standpoint it doesn't exist until THEY announce it, so their partners would be bound to the same secrecy.

Foolish or not for the player, collectibles have proven themselves as cash cows more than a few times. FFG is smart to put a heavy marketing emphasis on the game.

Lol. It's actually new versions (different dice, new abilities, etc), not just alt art, so there is that. And other new cards. It's a cool box, just pointing out to the other guy that it's not inherently better than the original starters just by being a 2 player box instead of separate packs. Could actually be worse, since some people are only playing one faction, meaning the two-player starter gives em a lot of cards they will never need.

It's a fun game, and I've bought the first two sets, but am bowing out due to lack of time to play (I'd rather be playing x-wing usually), and it being too expensive to keep up with.

They have in the past, I would be very surprised if Destiny was able to out-sell the good LCGs that FFG has created. In other words, collectibles were a great model with no alternative existed, but now that there is a better model that (potential) value has diminished. None of that is to say I think Destiny doesn't make them money, I just think they could make more money had they used the LCG model.

Officially announced at the very least as toys: http://io9.gizmodo.com/all-the-glorious-new-star-wars-the-last-jedi-toys-reve-1798310172

And here is an official picture release of Kylo's TIE from Lucasart: https://www.google.com/amp/ew.com/movies/2017/07/19/new-details-kylo-ren-tie-silencer-last-jedi/amp/

Not at the expense of pissing off their more established and long term game base.

Oh OK, yeah, then I definitely think we see the last 2 additions to wave XII tomorrow. I knew I had seen some pics I just didn't know if those were leaks or Disney approved stuff.

Yeah, there is some decent options for Rebels so far, and we still have the Resistance Transport from TFA.
