Feedback for upcoming local tournament

By Karl45, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi,

I'm looking to play in a local tournament and would like some feedback. Group favors large ships as the winner last time played three ISDs.

My lists are usually 5-6 small builds with at least 100 points for squadrons so this is designed to deliberately be different for me.

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points: 400/400

Commander: General Madine

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective: Planetary Ion Cannon
Navigation Objective: Solar Corona

[ flagship ] MC80 Battle Cruiser (103 points)
- General Madine ( 30 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Spinal Armament ( 9 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 159 total ship cost

I'd say roll boosted come on the flotillas, you can token first turn to get your second turn alpha, and it allows you a bit of room to stay back without losing squad commands on those Spd5 A-wings

There are a fair amount of people here that make madine liberty's sing.

As much as I am jealous of them, I am not one of them. I go back and forth between liking nearly naked libertys, like Mon Karren and Gunnery teams only, or lit up like a Christmas tree with quad turbolaser turrets and H9 plus leading shots to re roll those reds.

Your setup doesn't seem bad so much as it seems risky. You are tying all your points up into 2 big packages. If you cannot reliably arc dodge, then things will go poorly for you. If you can nav well, and line up your shots carefully so you can focus on a single target, liberty's can be deadly.
