Hope some of you guys get to witness the Solar eclipse, we here in Iowa City got dealt a bum hand... it's too cloudy?
That's no moon...
View from the Orange County, California area was cool, but only about 25% eclipse.
Still, watched it through some welding goggles and it was good for 15 minutes or so of not having to work
70% in Calgary. Pic with nice I get home
Pic just a few posts below, now
NEPA is getting a 70% showing. But it's also cloudy. Ironically am at a dealership getting an oil change and their associates are passing around a set of glasses. It's neat looking.
Reminds me how pissed that man hasn't managed to get any further in space exploration. People suck.
Vancouver Canada here, so around 86% for us, was kinda cool!
I got a pretty good view through a pinhole projector into the bottom of my breakfast bowl...
STL, 100% here for a little over a min. it was pretty cool.
65% here. Watched it through welding helmet.
Also cool was the shadows cast by the trees. Thousands of little crescents!
Central IL.... nearly 100%, little cloudy but didn't interfere.... was lucky enough to have glasses for it
As Promised:
Calgary, 1118 hrs Local. (Largest effect at 1135 hrs approx)
77% at Maximum.
Viewed through optical Telescope via the UofC Collapse-able observatory.
Camera lost a little on the resolution to the lens... With a direct eye view, you could make out Sunspots in the bottom left.
I got to see about half of it up in Minneapolis before everything clouded over, nabbed a pair of the super-polarized glasses last week so I got to just stare straight up.
Watched our 86-ish-% (also Vancouver BC) through the dark part of an X-ray film I grabbed. Surprisingly good result...though I can't really post the photo.
X ray film, welding glasses, good to see people appropriating workplace materials private interests hehe ?
