I'll leave this here. Just my take on the Skipray, and I'd love to see it as an Imp ship.

If you read more closely, you'll see I was talking about the gunboat when I said "small base".

Ah, my apologies. Too many boats, too little time.
Yeah, put me down for a Skipray Blastboat. I'd take one. Especially if it were dual faction Imp-Scum large base.
It it weren't for the Skipray, we would not have K-Turns in Star Wars.

Personally, this was always a favorite ship of mine -- a sturdy, hard-hitting assault craft with a good variety of weapons and a roomy cabin that actually makes sense for a picket ship.
It's a badass little ship, and in lore it was supposed to be occasionally classified as a small capital ship due to the output of its reactor. Game mechanic-wise, perhaps this could mean it gets energy tokens, like an epic ship. Anyways, who else is clamoring for this?

Also, ugly as sin.
Just not a pretty ship.

Nah that 'honor' belongs to the gunboat.

Thanks.
Little bit of Skipray eye candy.

Considering that Wave 11 and 12 hab 2 EU and 1 Disney ship each, the Skipray has good chances even without beeing on Rebels.
I'd grab 1 skipray if they come out. Not clamoring for them like the gunboats though. Need four of those bad boys
Fingers crossed for Wave XIII

Yeah but it seems like the ship's chances are better if it was in any of the Disney-verse shows.
Skipray is a West End invention... and one of my favorite ships.
After the gunboat, the blastboat and the avenger are my two most wanted ships.... but if it comes out for the freakn frelln Scum I'll not only boycott it, I'll try to persuade everyone else I know to pass on it too.
I own a pretty even spread of all ships in the game... and I was excited for the Scum faction when it came out, but it's just ridiculous lack of balance and theft of everything that made Imperials fun, makes me just loathe the faction and wish it nothing ever that is good again.
i get and can tolerate Rebels as the Mary Sues... but Scum too? Too much

Technically, I think it is a Timothy Zahn invention, WEG just provided an image and stats.
I'm with you, though; I really want that ship.
KEEP POSTING BOYS!! ONLY 270 PAGES TO GO UNTIL FFG CRACKS!!!

Huh. I thought it was in the first printing of the Imperial Source book, which predates Heir to Empire. Page 50 something IIRC... but my brain gets fuzzy that far back

I'm pretty sure WEG came up with it. From what I understand, Zahn would use source books from RPGs and the like to familiarize himself with Star Wars tech and ships for his books.
edit: Checked Wookiepedia and it lists the Imperial Source book as the Blastboat's first appearance.

As I remember a lot of authors did before the EU jumped the rails on the crazy train

Makes sense. Easy way to keep track of ships and get at least an impression of its capabilities.
Another post. GIVE US BLASTBOAT!!!!!!
....what? It worked for the gunboat!
mabye if I make the post longer, FFG is more likely to notice it?
worth a shot.
Ehhh. Maybe? Not gonna lie, it seems pretty scummy, but would look odd as heck in the Imperial lineup.
The Gunboat snuck in without too much trouble because it has the heritage of the Lambda; the Skipray has no such stylistic cues to fit it in. I'm not hostile , mind, but it's a harder sell than even the Gunboat was.

As a diehard Empire player I gotta say this is Scum fullstop. The Gunboat was bad enough but this would completely clash with the Imperial asthetic.
