Languages

By reidchapman, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I did not transfer from 2e to 3e so I have a question, Language is not touched on at all in the game and I'm wondering what languages there are.

1.Do skaven have there own language?

2.Is wood elf differant from high elf?

3.What is the imperial language called? (German?)

The only thing I know about the WHF setting languages is stuff about lizardmen cous' I own a lizardman army.

1. Queekish (yes, queekish)

2. Yes, but I can't remember the names.

3. IIRC there is a name for it, but it's the 'common' language for the setting for me, so Imperial or Empire or Common or Trade unless I can find otherwise or someone else knows (and I'm sure they do).

Queekish? LMAO!

I have an adventure running right now called "I Reach for the Stars" It's about skaven making alliances with various factions across the globe to get the resources to finance a space program (crazy rats) they want to go to space because morrslieb is made of warpstone and mannslieb is made of cheese so they don't care which one they hit. I'll try to find an excuse to say the word queekish at sometime during the adventure.

Thanks for the other info too

Here's little list of languages. These are done originally for WFRP2 rules:

www.freewebs.com/kalevalahammer/Warhammer_Languages.txt

First list of all languages. Then listed race/location based Common Knowledge, Language and Provincial Knowledge variations. But those are mostly WFRP2, you'll still find all you need here.

Reikspiel. (I really love this as name for a language. Much more imaginative and credible than "Common" or "Empirish" or something like that.)
