Current scale for sure. Don't get me wrong, I like 10mm games just fine (although prefer the detail of 28mm+) but for the GCW setting current scale just makes more sense. Beyond the fact that we just didn't have that much evidence of battles that would justify a 10mm scale I just like the idea of small tactical actions and objectives. Also, while Disney has given FFG leeway to add content, I worry about just how much leeway there will be. At the 10mm scale the Rebels just don't seem like they have enough interesting armored vehicle systems (unless you just give them a bunch of Old Republic stuff).
If they had offered a 27(32mm) and a 10mm game..

That got me thinking that a 10mm Clone Wars era game would be phenomenal.
Current scale for GCW though.
for a 10mm game in the GCW the rebels would have to have an advantage in spacecraft and speeders. X-wings and U-wings could handle the Imperial heavy walkers, and im sure Y-wings would do fine too. They never really had heavy ground vehicles. The clone wars is where 10mm would really shine.
27mm. Would make the game immediately scale to Warhammer terrain, which would mean you could take it to nearly any LGS in the country and play on existing tables with quality terrain. Just might have to file the skulls off first.
Compromise. I like the scale of Flames of War. The minis aren't terribly distinguishable, true, but you can get vehicles en masse (up to a full company of them), air support is an option, and it has air assault and air-landing rules. I'd really enjoy a Star Wars game at that level, and you could easily fit in an AT-AT at that level.
When I think “Star Wars,” there are some things that stand out to me more than anything. I think Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han, Chewy, Stormtroopers. I like the idea of ATAT’s. I love the space battles. But it’s the characters that keep me coming back to Star Wars over and over.
I think that FFG made the absolute BEST decision with this scale. I want to think of a game in 10mm like some people want. But nothing that I can imagine makes me feel the way I did when I saw the Legion demo on YouTube for the first time. Or the multiple times I’ve watched them since.

Eh, I feel that 40k feels much closer to 32 to 35mm, especially these days. Compared to my Perry Miniatures (true scale 28mm) the one Imperial guardsman I painted for a buddy looks massive. So shouldn't be too much of an issue.
