Domidictor

By jimmyrut, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi all,

Was playing around with this fleet recently for a bit of punch supported by an Interdictor.

Note that Dominator CANNOT be used at long range even with Disposable Capacitors as it has a range limitation baked into the card.

That said, I have always been a fan of reliable blue dice ships.

Finally, G-8 is rarely enough speed control by itself. Adding phylons in on the vsd and dictor may help prevent ships from overwhelming the G8s or forcing you to spend the Interdictor title for speed control opening you up to close range assaults without scramblers.

I see one key issue here:

I attack the flank where the Dictor is deployed. Even with Jerry you can't maneuver to really bring Dominator to full effect. Dictor dies --> fleet no long combat worthy.

Solar Corona helps a bit with flank protection. Contested Outpost not as much. Opening Salvo vs a MSU list will be painful I think.

Anyway, as tweaks go, get rid of G-8. Alone it's not sufficient to matter for speed control. Take grav shift instead. Use those obstacles to protect a flank. Helps a good bit with CO as well.

I think Leading Shots is more useful here. Make the reds count. Consistency is good, but on those occasions where you get too many accs, just reroll them.

Station Assault maybe. Not my fav objective, but with Grav Shift it's useful enough. So SA, CO, SC for objectives.

I think Jerjerrod and QBT are counter-productive, since JJ is most useful on speed 2, while going that will lots of times will prevent you from adding the blue dice. Motti maybe?

For objectives, you could use Station Assault, which helps you herding the enemy a bit, also benefits if you swap G8 to GSR

Thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it.

Here is a battle report for anyone interested using the fleet, but I certainly will take on board what everyone has suggested and will post a MKII version when I have a chance to brain storm and play it.

Thanks again!

I would object. Very much. Drop Jerjer and the problem of brining your fleet to bear is much magnified.

Excellent AAR. Enough text and images to actually understand what was going on!

In that case a DTT wouldn't be more reliable?

Possibly.

But in a fleet with SA/CO you want to slow-roll, so maybe still QBT.

Being able to JerJer yaw at 2 without a Nav at speed 1 can be a big deal. Add a nav token and you can go to speed 2 and still have awesome yaw, wo stopping repair spam.

On the other hand: does it really need more blue dice? :D
