Talisman: The Highland expansion

Nice
Wonder how dreadwing works. These are two different type of cards.
New add on the FFG's front page! Showing 2 cards, too! The follower looks pretty interesting...
Dreadwing: "You may roll 2 dice and add them together to see how far you move" (I assume the next part goes like this, covered with the box art) "If you roll the same number on both dice for your move, you may teleport to any other space in the same region."
Ok, I don't like the Riding Horse. Never found it very useful, and didn't like the movement abilities it took away from other possible effects. This one I may end up using.
Eyrie Vanguard: Can't quite make it out. A main deck adventure card that has to do something with the top 3 Highland cards. Interesting.
Awesome !

This is what i could read...
Eyrie Vanguard: Take the top 3 cards of the Highland deck. Looking at them, place them in their order, on top of the Highland deck. Then discard this card.
Dreadwing: You may roll 2 dice and add them together to determine how far you move.
If you roll the same numbers on both dice, you may teleport to a space in the same region
I like the art from the Eyrie vanguard.
I see owls who are flying around a big pillar
and it's a adventure card..
But i am not so excited about the text from that card..( i hope something better and more danger shows up for the adventure deck..

Riding Horse can be useful if you run fast through the Dungeon while a other player is going to the Inner region.
If you are strong enough to beat the LOD and land on the Crown, then you reach it faster than the player who is in the inner region.
It also comes in handy if you are on a region board and you want to run fast to the main board.
Looking at the both new cards we can see adornment on a Dreadwing card like it was on Treasure cards in Dungeon. I think this time when we defeat Eagle King we can take some powerful Followers. New event (Adventure card) is also cool but for the moment it is hard to see full text. Both arts are really great so that is another good news. I can not wait to see more form this expansions it looks realy awesome! FFG strategy presenting "little by little" is so hard for me...

It's looks indeed like a Treasure card from the Dungeon, but the Adornment is a little different than the dungeon one..
It would be nice to see more treasures in talisman..
Because the Adornment is different , then we can easily seperate them from the Treasure cards from the dungeon
This is what I can read from the cards:
Dreadwing
Follower
You may roll 2 dice and add them together to determine how far you move.
If you roll the same result on both dice for your move you may teleport to any space in the same region instead.
Highland icon in bottom left (to identify expansion) .
Eyrie Vanguard
Event
Take the top 3 cards from the Highland deck, without looking at them or changing their order, and place them on top of the Adventure deck.
Then discard this card.
Highland icon in bottom left (to identify expansion) and also top left in a drop-down - not sure what that means.
For those who don't know:
vanguard means "the part of a military force that advances first. " Hence why they are moved to the adventure deck.
I can't work out what the icon is supposed to be, maybe a feather ? Interestingly, the Harpy card on the first announcement has no icon at all.
Cards from the main set in an expansion do not have icons, only cards that go into other decks. Just like in the Dungeon expansion.

That makes the Eyrie Vanguard more interesting !
Eyrie Vanguard like a one-shot, weaker Oracle from Dungeon. Oracle is a Stranger, letting you look and arrange the top 5 cards each time you visit.
There is a difference between the Oracle and the Eyrie Vanguard.
Oracle is for Dungeon cards only.
Eyrie Vanguard brings 3 cards from the Highlands to the maindeck.
It would be fun if a strength 10 or higher enemy will be drawn from the Highlands and place it on top of the deck for the mainboard..
Still... it's a nice idea..
The Stone tower on the background from Eyrie Vanguard looks somewhat the same as the one on the Highland board
Will the Highland cards have a different back to the Adventure cards then? I'd hate to start getting the cards mixed up and then have to fish them out.

I was just talking about the art from Eyrie Vanguard
But every region has his own symbol and backside.
But If Eyrie Vanguard place 3 cards from the highlands on the adventure deck, then you will draw them soon in the next turns, and you don;t have to fish them out..
You could kill a Crypt Keeper or Prophetess/Orb some off the top of the deck, in the heat of the moment might discard them to the Adventure discards. Enchant Weapon Spell for me has a habit of going there as well, since it's attached to a weapon
(unless it's on a Purchase deck Weapon).

I always check the cards if i put them back in the box.
It can happen that cards got mixed in the wrong deck.
But i don't think it will happen with the eyrie vanguard, but if there is a heavy debate, then it is possible that someone placed the highland card on the discard pile, by using the prophetess etc..
If i look to the characters in wich edition there are:
Sprite: 2th edition
Rogue: 2th edition
Highlander: 2th edition
Valkyrie: 2th and 3th edition
Alchemist: 3th edition
Vampire 3th edition ( white dwarf) (+ polish 2th only..)

Cool! and... where can I find theirs (old, I know) abilities? I'd like to know how they "worked"...Maybe they'll be the same in 4th edition.
I'm really curious about the new characters (especially the sprite!).
(it's my first post here and I'm sorry but my written english is not good)

Rogue: 2th edition
Highlander: 2th edition
Valkyrie: 2th edition
Alchemist: 3th edition

Lately with a friend I had a discussion about Valkyrie and her bug with ability to revive dead Followers. What do You think about it? Basically there is two problems with her:
- Followers in Talisman, especially in new Talisman, are not dying. They usually are discarded. If she would keep her ability, that she can only revive dead Follower, she might use her ability once, max twice times per game.
- Once she will possess Faithful Hound or Champion, she is almost untouchable in battle.
What do You think?
With the Alchemist from third edition, he begins with one spell, and he can brew potion of some sorts at the city for 1 gold to get a spell..
-
Vampire: S=4, C=3, Evil, Graveyard (third edition)
-Whenever you defeat another player in battle or psychic combat and take one of their lives, you may add it to your own.
- Whenever you defeat a monster you may raise it from the dead. Take any experience points as normal. The monster becomes your follower and adds its strength or craft to yours for one battle or psychic combat, after which it disintegrates and you must discard it. You may only have one raised moster at a time.
You may drain the life-force of your followers. To do this, discard the follower and add one to your lives.

Maybe that FFG will skip that ability.
i see no english Valkyrie on boardgamegeek, so i can't read it..
I hope she has a spell ability and something in battle/ psychic combat..)
