Just looked at the 2nd edition Vampire stats, the new one is a major deviation from the norm (of not changing the character much at all).

The Vampire almost looks like the 3th edition version.

The only thing what the 4th R version does not have, is the life stealing from characters and raising dead followers compare to 3th

But that's no problem. I like the 4th R version better

Thinking about the Vampire today..

I think it is unnecessary to make the vampire good, unless it happens that she draw the Angel..

she can stay evil through the whole game if she want..

Healing on graveyard and replenishing fate is very good.

And then... i will follow my opponent and steal their followers

Almost every Character should change its alignment to Evil and stay Evil to the end of the game. Not only our vampire

The exception is the end game if you are pushing for a draw or buying time to catch up. In that case a good vampiress would be hot.

True, image for Stormwing is great. But Mountain Drache... I'm pretty sure, I've seen him before. He looks like he was taken from Dungeons & Dragons

More or less the same as Ghoul in 2nd and current 4th edition. In 3rd editon they changed Characters name (accent for racial division) but most of the special abilitties has been taken from 2nd ed.

The Highlander

Woot !

The artwork from the Highlander is great !!

I like his abilities very much.

It let's me think about the Wardancer from third edition. he/she has also the charge ability

Looking at second edition Highlander, he is almost the same..

instead of getting a extra turn on hills spaces, he can draw now a second adventure card there

That's better in my eyes..

I wonder how he plays..

There are 2 hills in the outer region and 1 in the middle.

Hills(becomes draw 2 now) +hidden city and oasis is a lot of card drawing for him.

2 hills in the outer region +ruins is ( 3x a draw 2 space)

Still... Swashbuckler has more chances.... ( there are 5 fields? in the outer regions, (that;s pretty good) but none in the middle region

plus,.. his extra turn makes him better...

What are the experiences from 2th edition players with the Highlander?

Some very good points, V. But you forgot to factor in the Highlanders potential for superiority in Battle. I don't remember at the moment if the Swashbuckler has anything like that, but the Highlander does have some edge in this for encounters with the extra draws that it does get.

But if he charge, he miss his next turn

It also depends on how many fields and hills there are. The middle board has hills but no fields.

Finally The Highland is on the boat so we might catch it in about a month. That's great! I hope we hear more news from FFG soon. For the moment we know nothing about a board, amounts and kinds of cards...
