I realized something....

By Battlefleet 01 Studios, in Star Wars: Armada

Now for those of you who where disappointing as I was yesterday when all we heard was, "something big was coming", I may have figured it out (probably not, but it is interesting I think):

Now for those who read it, in the Aftermath books, there is a Super Star Destroyer called Eclipse (pretty sure it isn't the Legends Eclipse, just a regular SSD), and it supposedly went missing, and rumor has it that it will be in TLJ. If this was true and FFG wanted to do a minor tie-in with TLJ, they in theory might have to wait, as Disney may not want it spoiled just yet. But it still would work thematically with the OT because the Eclipse was built then, not for the First Order. The SSD would like have upgrade cards featuring both Eclipse and Executor (maybe even a Lusankya, who knows).

I of course may just be going crazy, but it makes sense to me.

Possibly. I think I'd like to also use a hypothetical SSD model to fight the Battle of Jakku (and do it right this time), which would mean the Ravager title...but I'm not convinced the game's scale can handle an SSD in the first place.

They say what happened to it in the 3rd book, it didn't go exactly missing...

Also, I think it's more likely to be the Executor class simply because it appeared in screen, and FFG said that we are guaranteed to have at some point everything we see on screen.

Although I also really want it, I think it's not that likely

You know, if you've seen one SSD, you've seen them all. ;)

Not really. The EU Eclipse class SSD for example would be totally unfit for Armada battles.

I think the new canon will be slightly less... the absolute definition of victory... I hope they show and work on it in the new trilogy, although hopefully they keep the overall design (Not the size tho, that was absurdly big)

Any SSD would be unfit for Armada battles.

Thats just because it had the insta-kill super laser.

I have never seen a movie tie in with this game. I rather keep it that way.

And it was collosal! I bet it could destroy a Death Star by ramming it

Wth people, put spoiler tags in your thread title if you even hint at spoilers. 3x in 2 days.

Mass/volume wise, sure it was big, but it would still be a mo-ped running into a garbage truck (Death Star). It was at least 3 times the volume of the Executor-class. But the Executor was about a kilometer longer than the Eclipse. (Unless the "incredible growing SSD Canon size" changed that recently.)

-This part is not a spoiler, all old EU stuff.

This man has it. Not entirely sure what it is, but he definitely has it

Well, if you are basing it on size, then ISDs would also be unfit

Scalling... scalling!

Don't really care if it's not scale accurate because if you did not notice yet, FFG don't really care either about ''scale'' ;)

GR-75, CR-90, ISD... why not SSD? :P

I am convinced it's an SSD. Scale has been wacko in Armada.

I really am hoping we don't get a TLJ core set. I don't think it worked well with X-Wing, and there are way to many ships they need to do before we move into other trilogy-factions (much as I would love to see a Clone Wars era set to re fight some of my favorite childhood battles*)

*BTW, ready for incoming Clone Wars hate.

I've said this before and I stand by it: Put a raider on the table. The one from x wing. If the executor was this size would it really be that bad?

You forget how big Armada bases are. You could squeeze several X-Wing pieces into the space a large-based ship in Armada requires. That's a big difference.

Well, yeah, it'd be way too small. :P

Scale is already messy. Look at a Gozanti or a GR75 or a CR90, and then look at a Star Destroyer.

I just really want my SSD. Don't care if it is only 15 inches, I want it!
