Latari Memorial abusable (or broken)?

By Maktorius, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Can't Kari or Ankaur with Fortuna's die or any archer unit with tempered steel become "to" strong when placed next to Latari memorial? Kari will have a very high probability to be able to dish out 6 ranged damage per turn (or snipe at 4 damage) at initiative 2 while still having +1 armor. Ankaur could be even more redicoulus with a maximum of 12 damage when having the Brutal upgrade.

During setup this terrain must be the first pick hands down, because it's the only one with that level of power amplification?

1) "too"

2) Kari can already rally after attacking. Every turn, and ready fortunas.

3) don't let people camp on it. Its no different than a moveable box surrounding hawthorne giving every tokens , except it doesn't move.

Runewars tmg is a maneuver game, you are either moving, or being killed, so you better keep moving. I've yet to see the sit still strategy work for someone, it means yoy are giving me the advantage of moving unassailed.

How can you pick this terrain when terrain is randomly generated?

I was a bit unclear, I meant first pick to PLACE (once randomly drawn). My assumption is that if the piece is available, it is a no-brainer to place it as close as possible to your ranged units (ot others with exhaustible upgrades) or just to deny your oppenent starting proximity to it.

Post the text for the terrain you're talking about, please. I haven't read or seen anything about it yet.

it is a 0 capacity defense - before each end phase each unit at range 1 gets an inspiration / hazardous - before each end phase each unit at range 1 suffers 1 wound. So you want to use 1 defensively, the other offensively, but you could easily be giving either to your opponent if you end up as second player. A dangerous gamble in a tournament list.

These are two of my favorite terrains. Spikes felt lame because they're basically just a rocky outcrop if no one screws up. These ones have some ambiguity to their area of event though in that it's easier to miscalculate and have them actually affect the game in a way other than just being a roadblock
