Sorry this is late but happy Friday,
So the question for the week is will you be buying into the new Star Wars game?

Ugh... I shouldn't...
But I might...
Buy? No.
Paint, and maybe own through Painting? Probably.
It really isn't that happy for me.
I will likely be playing it in some form or fashion. It looks interesting at least. I considered Runewars (since I was a hardcore WH Fantasy guy), but I just haven't liked the aesthetic quite enough.
Hells no.
"With Armada being the 4th best selling miniatures game in the USA, we're proud to present our newest expansion"
Absolutely nothing. The blackest, most brutal expansion of all.
nothing nothing at all

I'm about to go drink whatever that guy had to think up the creature phase

Enough vodka to get a Russian drunk?

Rune Wars players must be panicking. They just went from having a great replacement for WHFB to suddenly having an even more successful license than 40K steal all their thunder as FFG's premier wargame.
I was getting the impression that RuneWars and Legion are targeted at slightly different audiences, but Legion isn't out, so that's really speculation and a fair amount of split hairs.
Happy Friday! (Barely) unfortunately the three war games I already play have stretched my funding thin enough as it is

Runewars was all but directly injected into the bloodstream of Warhammer Fantasy players who have been furious at Games Workshop and calling for a regimental fantasy army game. Star Wars Legions is definitely being positioned to compete with Warhammer 40k as a hobbyist wargame, and even co-opting the GW hobbyist apparatus to get existing Warhammer players interested. The first "official" Legions video released after the trailer was Sorastro releasing a 30 minute ultra-detailed painting guide for the brand spanking new Luke Skywalker model. Featuring almost exclusively GW/Citadel hobby paints.

Exactly. Aren't those two different playerbases, or are they more unified than I realize?

Fantasy was even more of a hobbyist game than 40k, so they were closely related by more than just the IP.
According to my wife, I'm done. Legions is not happening.
According to the voice in my head, what she doesn't know won't hurt her.
I'm becoming pickier with my games so honestly , Legions will be dependent on the rules and size of forces you play with.

I never got into either (I toyed with 40K but never pulled the trigger), so I'll take your word for it.

Legion will probably wait until I'm out of school, but I will be watching it very closely. I'm very hopeful that like Armada the spread of expansions will ramp up quickly, and that unlike Armada, the most iconic ones won't get completely screwed over by shipping mixups and supply chain shenanigans.
Oh I'll be getting legion, but it will be a slow roll, not a HAM like I got into Armayduh.
Maybe... After I get my SSD.
Happy Friday all
Probably not, no. I already own a depressingly large amount of 40k, and the only way Legion could replace it would be if it came prepainted.
So I think my wife is rather pleased that I am not going to be picking up yet another tabletop wargame
I very well could see me buying the core set and seeing how I like it. But I'd probably have to give up a game to get into it. I'll have to see if the locals get into it... I'm not buying another game that nobody plays locally.
I'm looking at you Armada.
