JJ's text does explicitly state Clone Wars era senate, but your post felt like it didn't give the era away, per se.

I don't mean any specific wording. I just mean that based on the totality of the background text I got, it was abundantly clear we're in the Clone Wars era. Is that not the case for everyone? If more than 5 of you say there is clear room for error, then I'll buy it. Otherwise this looks like a slip by Ovi to me.

My flavor text is clear about the era as well. Doesn't say explicitly but it's easily identifiable.

My character did exactly the same under the Republic as under the Empire: defend freedom and fight the enemies of the democracy.

I would not say my flavor text is explicitly clear about the era we are in. Upon re-reading it, all I would say is that it's implied that it's happening before "A New Hope", which doesn't precisely mean it's Clone Wars era.

Mine was clear, but it was based on my knowledge of the Clone Wars TV series. This wouldn't technically be flavor giving things away, so I don't think it is that. If this was anything but day 1 where it's kind of a shot in the dark anyway I would think we would find something more solid to base a lynch on. All I am saying is it is something, but all in all it's pretty flimsy.

Mine is not explicit, but through context it is fairly easy to figure out.

What's making me a little curious though is Ovi mentions an empire and imperialists, and my flavor text led me to believe this takes place well before the empire existed.
