[MAFIA] The Wheels of Democracy ***GAME OVER***

There is absoutely no reason to belieave anything Truthi said or did over me (WE GOTTA HAMMER SOMEONE DAY1 PEW PEW) other than that he appears to be the golden haired quarterback of the Mafia club. It's entirely possible he is what he says. It's also entirely possible, based on his experience in this game, that he's completely full of crap. The fact that half a dozen people seem to have rolled over for him before ANY ACTUAL FACTS have come into play tells me there is some brown nosing going on.

Man, I definitely play this game for fun, not to get some sort of big **** accomplishment for being with the cool kids. The only reason people thought your attack on Truth has nothing to do with his hair color or football skills, but because we find out whether he's a liar or not Day Two, no matter what.

It's not a defense strategy. It may have not been clear, but my last several comments have not been "playing" the game...

...and the reason I haven't is because I don't think I'm playing the same game as at least some of the people here.

The game I'm playing is "you win when all threats to the town are eliminated".

I suspect that the game at least some people are playing...at least a little bit...and at least subconsciously is "ingratiate myself with the established members of the mafia clique for social status and feel-goods and if I happen to be wrong and lose, oh well, because at least I'm still in the clique"

And I'm not interested in that.

So, no I'm not going to claim. Lynch me, watch me flip town, and then go ahead and tell yourselves "well, Roc played like a newbie, what were we supposed to do?"

I think you are misinterpreting the incident. Nobody really trusts Truth. I certainly don't, Day 1. But because he promised an action, if he doesn't deliver, or does something other than an act obviously good for town, we have a confirmed scum, and if he does deliver, and spectacularly, we have a confirmed Townie. So it's not a matter of ingratiating one's self (we don't have that community here), rather a common sense approach. Why should we vote to kill the 1 person we can confirm come tomorrow? That's why people jumped on your case - you wanted to kill the one guy we could check, instead of allowing him to do his thing and reveal his alignment, and vote a second person, who's also suspicious.

When several votes happen in a short space of time, not allowing the lynchee time to defend or claim, generally happens on JJ

The perfect definition. For two reasons.

1) It immortalizes JJ
2) When they ask 'Who's JJ?' we say 'The guy who gave us Thrawn'

And if hes idiot, then great. Well played.

*thought your attack on Truth was suspect

First time out of likes... now I really feel your pain...

Also, we are a bunch of nerds playing mafia in the off topic forum of our star wars spaceship game. There are no "cool kids" here!

I am pretty sure it did exactly the opposite.

I understand what @Rocmistro is getting at...

but Roc what you have to understand is Truth has claimed to have a power that will be revealed when the hammer drops so voting for him is bad because if he's telling the truth we'll know what it is at the end of the day

if he's lying we'll lynch him tomorrow

so do you now see why pushing for his lynch day one can be seen as scummy... only a scum player wouldn't want to have his ability happen.

i get your meta game frustration I went on a huge rant about it my first game when I got lynched for suggesting a no lynch... you just gotta hang back and figure everybody out, there's no new guy hate here we're not picking on you

Yeah, but unlike X-wing, we are cool nerds playing our strategic and very mentally requiring staw wars spaceship game

In fairness, you were in fact also scum.

Yes. Yes. Very much so.

And how do you not know there is not some sort of switch-a-roo shenanigans behind the scenes that a coordinated scum interchange might affect that could cast doubt on Truthi's claim while at the same time accomplish one of their goals? Ie, like the Busdriver scenario we had last game? Or that he's not a 3rd party looking to affect his own ends.

All I'm saying is that I don't understand why;

1. Truthi says "hey guys I got this awesome thing, JUST TRUST ME!" and everyone's all like "ok bud!" without any kind of discussions about how it might be dangerous or a ruse or whatever.

2. I had a number 2 but I forgot what it was...

...oh yeah....Everyone goes on about how day 1 is for 'putting some pressure' on and see how people respond. But the minute I try that with sacred cow everyone goes bananas on me.

Truth cool? He screwed his first mafia game so badly. Those PGOs... The North remember.

Yes...

That's what I get for not knowing what an open set up was. It was also a case of the town getting as lucky as humanly possible.

I remember that time... :)

Look @Rocmistro, we don't hate you, we just want to play game.

If you're innocent, I'm sorry- but you have yet to provide an actual claim other than blaming everyone.

Thanks for that. Ok , I get it.

But see my above post...I still don't understand is why everyone' so quick to go along with what Truthi has claimed. There could be serveral plays going on behind the scenes going on that allow him to make his move and still come out smelling like roses. I'm not suggesting we lynch him (well...despite the fact that I actually voted him), but it's just odd to me that no one is discussing it.

Well of course. Why would we do anything else?

I'm sorry but that was my game

So wow that was a lot to catch up on. I'm not sure where the angst from Roc is coming from. I am simply stating that a no lynch is as scummy as it gets. Yes, we are likely to tag an innocent. But it also gives us valuable voting records. Scum are highly likely to be in on a vote against a town because they know who we are.

@JJs Juggernaut, can we get a vote count?

Also, @Rocmistro we had decided earlier in the day how if truth doesn't bring anything good we would lynch him D2 (by we I mean few people mentioned) and as no one else took the topic further, so we thought the plan was settled, we let truth live until the end of the day, when we will know if he is what he says he is or not

@Rocmistro

i put my vote on you for a feeler to get you back in the thread, Did not expect a lynchmob! (i usually dont hold such influence)

1. No chat day so no coordination at this point.

2. If something weird happen it doesn't matter. If Truth claimed be redirected or whatever, sorry mate, I will lynch him anyway. We had enough "I am a watcher it just happens I watched the wrong guy". If Truth flip town we will know they have that kind of role.

The thing is that he asked for something easy. Be the last vote on someone who was already lynched. So who cares. Probably it will mean he achieve his win condition and we don't get to deal with him anymore. Otherwise he is going to die.

Understand this. And the fact that everyone glommed on to it without so much as bat of the eye, while taking Truthi's bait hook, line and sinker is what's got me baffled.

Truthi makes claim = everyone falls in line.

Roc does what everyone else does..turns a screw for pressure = everyone goes bat **** insane HE MUST BE SCUM!

We are literally starting from the exact same place of trustworthiness on day 1 (which is, 0)

I don't care if I get lynched, but I'm am pondering the meta of the reasoning.
