The game is unpainted, period. Nothing will change this fact at this point. FFG has made their decision, though you don't have to like it.
For what it's worth, I agree that it was the right decision. The Core Set comes with 33 miniatures and eight barricades for $89.95. That's a very fair price for the industry. If you asked FFG to sell you 33 prepainted figurines and you were willing to accept low-quality paint jobs, look at what WizKids charges for booster packs of its Icons of the Realm D&D Minis. 32 of their miniatures sold in a brick together cost $127.92, except that they're randomly assorted, so anyone selling then nonrandomly would hike the price up considerably, and the rules and miscellaneous game components are more on top of that.
For Legion minis with paint jobs done for you, just commission from a hard-working painter. It'll cost you about what it would have cost to buy prepainted minis from FFG in the first place, and it'll probably still look better.
