Color palette for Latari Elves

By docForsaken, in Runewars Painting and Modeling

So I picked up my Latari elves and I plan to spend some time getting them glued and primed up... but I'm trying to do some research on the color palette to use. I saw the Army Painter setup here - http://www.beastsofwar.com/army-painter/runewars-paint-sets/ . I was trying to figure out what they're selling in that (and then I can map up the greens and browns to my citadel paints). Any one have any idea whats in the green box here?

Or other good ideas for Latari Elves?

I have a lot of the army painter paints, and am becoming more and more disenchanted with them. Mostly because they are inconsistent texture, some too thin, some to thick.

The "Elf Green" is way more "Army green" and "babe blond" is way more "banana".

I've done a color scheme test basically in silver and white, cloth is white, armor is "shiny silver". The fir trim, handles and such are gold and "Elf green" right now, but am now looking for another green.

My goal is my vision of 1st age Noldor elves - not from the movie, but brighter (whites and silvers) with gold touches and enough green to say "the green army" as much as Waiqar are "the purple army" and the Daqan are "the blue army"

White, silver, green, gold, blond, black or brown hair. (Desert yellow feathers on the arrows, and elven flesh for the skin) Sticking to my "5 colors for simplicity" scheme as usual...D'oh!

and haven't figured out the colors for the arrow shafts much less the leonx.

I'm doing mine as dark elves, with elf green on their cloaks and lava red for clothes. Doing metal armor rather than the leather.

I've done 1 block of archers so far, gone with Leather armour and purple clothing.
The fur tufts look pretty good, breaks up the model a bit.

My old WFB Wood selves were in fall colors - red, orange, brown, yellow, and faded green. I would also paint smalls on the bases to represent leafs that had fallen.

In the old woodelves book from WHFB were some picture that show the woodelves in an alternative color scheme. They have chosen a spring, an autumn and also a winter theme.

If I find some pictures of these guys, I'll post the links.

thank's guys. great ideas! Warning I'm a citadel guy:
I was thinking of going with:

base green: Castellan Green
shade: Biel Tan Green (really pops the green)
1st highlight: Loren Forest
+ Moot green in stages to lighten it up

I'm going to go with a silver with a hint of a light blue mixed in (lunar vibe) for the metal work.

I haven't picked the leather color, yet, but I'd love to mix in a little yellow or orange into the leather color to warm it up and add some punch vs. the standard leather colors that I have all over the other armies. So maybe:

Base: some XV88 for the tans and Skrag Brown + a touch of Evil Suns scarlet (maybe a 4:1 mix?) for a red-brown leather, Rhinox hide for belts and straps.
shade: typical mix of nuln oil and agrax earthshade
Highlights: Skrag brown areas probably thinned Skrag brown then a bit of fire dragon bright to lighten it up... maybe just 1 2nd highlight there?

I'd love to find some good autumn leaf flocking though... some fallen foliage on the base. Know any good stuff there?

My buddy @MegaSilver collects and paints (he's pretty good at it) RuneWars and tries to entice the rest of our gaming group to play with choosing their own faction. If I ever get around to actually playing the Elves, I'd like a color scheme based on the Paradwyn faction from Magi-Nation (less green-and-brown Elves, more bright purples, oranges, blues, and pinks):

Obi, you'll have to buy the Elves yourself! Then I could paint them, for a fee. ?
Also, painting an army is totally a cheerleader effect, but thanks still! :D

Thats a cool idea. You need to post those up! I have my first few done and I'm really excited about it. I traded the loren forest for warpstone to punch up the green some without being the eye rending color on the box
