Please sell terrain

By Drjacobs, in Star Wars: Legion

I just hope they sell terrain we can paint. I don't want a mat with cardboard terrain. I don't know how to make my own. Please offer this and you shall have my money!

It's FFG. They would sell you their grandmother if they could fit her in a box with some custom dice, so rest assured you will get more terrain than your wallet can handle.

I hope for some buildings at least. The rest trees, hills and such are already available.

They didn't for Runewars yet. Where do you buy terrain?

There are so many 3rd party options for terrain out there, that I don't think it would be worthwhile for FFG to invest in making it available. A decent FLGS will also have plenty of it on the shelf, ready for you to borrow.

If you are willing to spend, 4ground does great terrain. Serissa (sp) needs painting, but is pretty good too.

There's plenty of terrain for other games e.g. Infinity that you could use, and some come pre-painted too.

Having official Star Wars terrain though would be awesome - just looking at the demo tables from the show make me desperately want some of that!

QS =D

I have a huge pile of styrofoam and hot wire cutter that now has a purpose. I have months to make terrain for this. I'm super excited.

Official Hoth Power Generators and Endor Bunker would be nice.

The Tatooine terrain they're using for the promotional shots, appear to have cast doors. Are they from another game or 3rd party site?

Pre made terrain would be great. Little things like crates or vaporators would be cool. Yknow what else? Civilians would be awesome. And frame miniatures so we can build/customize our troopies.

While not cheap, some of the Warmachine/Hoards figures look great for this. Cut off their clubs or swords, and put in some blasters and you'd be set.

Yeah that would be cool. Other companies sell civilians. Makes for a fun battlefield.

As someone who sucks at building terrain, I'd love to see kits come out. The first one should be a sarlacc pit. Then Han in carbonite. Where's my Boba Fett?

I'll take a Jabbas palace terrain kit with a rancor unit too please.

Well it seems like the core set will come with 8 plastic barricades so ...

More for my rancor to destroy when I get it is what you mean. I'm glad we are on the same page ?

Terrain is essential and on the menu for production I hope. Not only will it look super rad, my fantasy and sci fi terrain pieces for other systems will only go so far.

Whilst generic terrain is available from numerous places, SW specific stuff (like the buildings in the demo video) would be amazing. FFG would have to be pretty stupid to not make terrain for this game, but then I'm not aware of any terrain they do for any of their other games.

Just the fact that the core box comes with plastic barriers is a huge deal.

I really hope for defined terrain, as it will have a big impact on organized play.

Check out rocketpiggames.com they have an awesome 3d printable Ice cavern set thats perfect for Hoth!

And theyre making a huge variety of outdoor terrain as well which will work for SW as well.

imperialterrain.com also has a lot of Tatooine terrain and bundles, highly recommend.

Terrain packs with doors (small single), pipes, and windows. So you can make your own buildings.

Terrain packs with crates, power cores, terminals, and misc parts.

Themed terrain packs like barracks, city, or outdoor.

Maybe larger ship models that would work for objectives but not be usable as Vehicles in your forces. The packs would offer up cards for scenarios specific to the terrain it contains.

I believe these types would work best to enhance the experience of the game.

I haven't played any war games miniatures before (X-Wing & Heroclix my main minis games) but I wouldn't mind seeing in scale printable paper craft terrain for a game like this. Sure not as awesome as some of the custom terrain I've seen for these types of games, but it would be accessible to people without the skill/time/money to invest.
