Solo game

STILL holding out for a solo Star Wars game. :(

You're holding out in the wrong place I'm afraid because this game almost certainly won't have any form of AI.

You can play both X-Wing and Imperial Assault solo, using variant rules. There are some very good ones out there.

For X-Wing, have a look at the "Heroes of the Aturi Cluster" rule set. It lets you play dogfights and campaigns without an opponent, thanks to some neat AI. Some assembly required. A google search should find it. It's something like www.dockingbay416.com.

For Imperial Assault, try "Redjak's Automated Imperial Variant", or "Redjak's Automated Emperor Variant" (RAIV, or RAEV, respectively). You can find them in the files section for the X-Wing Miniatures Game at boardgamegeek.com.

You're welcome. :)

Armada is really good solo. In X-wing, so much is about positioning and out-thinking your opponent's next move. In Armada, it is really about choosing which hull zone to attack from and which enemy hull zone to attack and knowing when to use and when to save your defense tokens. The only thing you hide from your opponent are your next commands, which isn't as big of a deal in solo play compared to the actual movement choice in X-wing.

If an Imperial Assault app ever comes out like Descent though, that will be excellent for solo play.
