New Action Speculation

So the Gunboat and the Kimogila both have a new action that is shared between them.

I am very confident that this is a reload action to refresh ordnance on the ships after use. Reason being that for dedicated ordnance carriers, they have hardly any slots for ordnance. One missile and one torpedo for the Kimogila, and the same for the Gunboat.

I'd like to hear other ideas though.

I'm guessing it's a copy of Quinn's ability. Take a weapons disabled token to flip an ordnance card faceup.

Good call, Major Vynder (the pilot we can see) mentions a Weapons Disabled token. I assumed it'd be just for if you SLAM, but that's not a very good ability. Doubling down on SLAM-ing, Adv SLAM, Reload makes you ready to go for the next round and gets you the bonus agility. That's a much better ability.

It could shoot bunnies that give shields back to the target I'm still buying at least 2.

That being said reload is obvious the answer to not taking em and adds an interesting flavor to the ordnance mechanic we haven't seen before. And reload is on the bar so if they nerf slam as rumored the big GB keeps on trucking unscathed ?

The big difference being with Quinn it's not an action. The Gunboat/Lizard will have to work the reload into their action allowance.

Yup, literally Quin Jast. It might have more to it such as getting back other discard on use cards, but i doubt it.

Given that we already know it has a white 3bank, odds are it will reliably be able to fire an ordnance, next turn 3speed off into a 3speed SLAM into a Reload to get the missile back. Nobody could be chasing you if they werent already facing the way you went so you'd be perfectly safe while doing this.
Main question is how fast can it turn around. Without slam

Other question is whether or not it's worth using ASLAM for reload over chips

Chips are kinda good

Depending on its green economy, might be wiser to use PTL and keep chips.

hmm...wonder what the timing is on that. SLAM, PTL into an action, but the maneuver you SLAMMED was green...clear stress? probably not. Never bothered to check that one since Kwing has no ept

It would work; you do get a stress if you use a slam as an IG-88 to do an S-loop. That being said, I doubt that any slam-abled pilot would have an ability to perform an action (such as Slam) while stressed.

Dial in a maneuver at a speed you have a green maneuver of. SLAM to that green maneuver, PTL for Reload. I am assuming since SLAM action IS the maneuver, it would include the "check pilot stress" before its able to be PTL'd off of.
I.e. the green maneuver you slammed into cleared the PTL stress.

I've got a soft spot for the Scyk, but I really can't argue with that!
