Gunboat DOA

Terrible rules, don't sum up the Gunbaoat Mcboaty Facegun rules at all, and overcosted

Don't care; still got Gunboat.

What is this madness?!?!? You got the GUNBOAT!!!!!

If I can take this in a serious direction, what about it's 2 attack primary?
Not knowing how easily the devs have made firing munitions for it, I am weary it will go the way of other 2-dice primary ships (w/o built in modifications, i.e. Spec. Ops. Training).

Can we make out the title at all? I'm sure it makes the thing a beast - I NEED TO KNOW NOW

I'm pretty sure it will be attacking twice a round and/or be a much better Cannon user than the Defender with one of Gunboat specific Modifications. It should also be a pretty decent munitions carrier if that Reload action is well crafted.

Yeah, like the K-Wing or Jumpmaster, attack 2 just isn't enough...

2 primary attack doesn't matter much when you're going to be generally firing cannons and ordinance. 26 points for the top pilot doesn't seem over costed, and the ship is about as tanky as in the video game.

So the lowest skill generic is going to be around 19-21 points right?

I don't think its DOA.

You run the PS7 dude with Adv Slam and PtL. Give him Proton Torpedoes.

On the approach, you Target Lock and PtL to focus. Fire the Torpedoes. Next turn you do a green maneuver to shed stress. Then you Slam away and turn to come around for another pass. Reload to get the torpedo back off Adv Slam. PtL off the Reload to focus if you need to for defense. And because you slammed, you have Agility 3, and likely range 3 as well if the enemy Talon Rolled or K turned to get behind you.

Assuming its dial has a green 3 straight it should be good.

Its relatively cheap for a reasonably durable profile that can fire some nasty ordinance. Only thing I could ask for would be 2 Mod slots so I could have Adv Slam and Chips.

My guess would be 1 canon + 1 primary attack/round.

Im a little upset its another small ship with low upgrade options and no tech/system/crew/etc. As for how good it is, its way too early to tell. We need to know the dial (just has a front arc, needs to be good) and what the titles do. Somehow after seeing all the nice stuff scums/rebels keep getting, i believe many players will be angry if their most wanted ship turns out to be another lemon.

What scares me is that so far both other ships already looks really good even with all the missing info. A small and cheaper coordinate ship for rebels? Biggs and Lowrisk will love this. So will Miranda. Even if SLAM is nerfed, if another ship can give her the action she needs to drop that bomb, we just changed 4 x 0.25$ for 1.00$. We dont know what that new arc on the scum ship will do but it's intriguing. The ship also has many upgrade options. And of course scums/rebels are getting other unique upgrades...

I wont care about all that if im getting an amazing ship. Better be!!

The again Nym got a turret and they did give him a 3 dice primary...

I guess only 2 for primary so that when you're firing munitions they aren't being turned to crits also.

And in the source game, the gunboat has the same laser count as a tie fighter. It's firepower came from ordnance and cannons.

It has 2 attack because that's what the ship should have. :-P The reveal showed SLAM tokens. That means the title can be only one thing: Missile Boat.

For all the hype I get a good feeling FFG took their time designing this thing.

Who knows, maybe this is going to come with cards that bring 2 attack dice ships back.

Has anyone mentioned the title text yet? Looks like it swaps some upgrades but i cant make out much else

I think the ship will be in a support role, one more offensive and one more support

Thing to note: (`1) it has two weapons disabled token. HOR and Kwing only had 1 token. (2) If I'm not mistaken there's 2 jam tokens (probably coming from the canon/beam???

I definitely will pick one up; big fan of the Tie fighter game.
