Hopeful thinking but...we are still missing 20 and are now missing 28, unless I missed that somewhere, so maybe even more big news coming at some point?
I have to think with the Wave VII announcement coming out a week after Gencon, that they just didn't have time to fit it in for the In-Flight announcement.

They like to display and show off the new stuff at Gencon. Plus it's a huge draw with lots of coverage. My guess is that due to some shipping or production issue, they weren't able to have actual models on hand for Gencon, so they delayed the announcement.

It's probably more likely that they delayed it, as I believe Giled pointed out, because with this announcement, who would have paid attention to Legion?
I can't imagine folks "ignoring" the Legion Announcement, even if it was directly followed by the new Armada Wave. I think Legions would of made a stir anyways. After all, the did make the X-Wing announcement with the Gunboat in the same presentation, and I don't think that detracted from Legions. I think that FFG is suffering from overwhelming success, and is having a tough time keeping everything on schedule. Let's face it, schedule has never been one of their strong points in the past, and the added pressures of Destiny and now Legion are going to continue to stretch them thin. That being said, I can wait. I accepted long ago that any dates they mention are more guesses than hard deadlines. As long as the quality is there, I can easily overlook delays with any of the products. I'm quite happy that Armada got its new wave, and that we may be in for even more goodies on Force Friday II (although the latest article has me bewildered as to what them may actually have in store for us).
I contend that this is it.

The Release of what is generally believed (love him or hate him) as the most popular Imperial Commander, into the game. That is something Big, as far as FFG and even Disney would be concerned... Thrawn in his element .
So Big is done. That's it. Anything else we get is extra, but don't expect anything more.

As someone eager to see the Resurgent, I'd feel very happy with the Profundity if that was the "something big" alongside Thrawn. I've not read EU, or seen Rebels Season Three (pre-ordered the DVD and expecting it in October), so you'll have to forgive me for being more excited at the MC-75. That has got to be my favourite Rebel capital ship, with CR-90 third and Nebulon-B coming second.
Perhaps this is the "Something Big" although I'm not sure what is bigger than Thrawn.

The secret is that when they tell you the quarter something is coming out add an extra quarter to it and you are near the actual release date, usually.
But hey at least they aren't GF9 who were so late they were off by an entire year with their expansions for Star Trek Ascendancy.

0% - if the 'big thing' was tied to a specific game series as an expansion, that would have been called out. You can't risk stores buying something, after all, that only works with other ('core' component) things they might not have.
X-Wing has a slight possibility of a new 'intro' core set, that is even more stripped down than the existing core sets (say, just 2 models instead of 3 - 1 each of Kylo Ren's TIE Silencer and Luke's Resistance A-Wing), as that could explain the lower cost vs typical X-Wing core sets (it's $30 instead of $40). But there is no way to get an 'Armada' core set down that low, and if the special product *IS* anything that fits with an existing game series, it flat-out must be standalone (which says 'core set' of some kind).
I think smart money, now, is on either some kind of oversized Destiny set that is big enough to be 'playable out of the box', or a new game entirely.
Something big is coming.....
