Chance to get bonus materials when preordering

Can someone explain what are the official chances of getting bonus material when preordering? I saw a guy claiming that his local store would receive each second copy with bonus preorder materials, however my local store and THE ONLY official retailer of FFG (bigbag.bg) told me that they were told by FFG that 1 on each 48 copies will receive bonus materials

It would be great to know the official answer, since shipping costs more than another copy for me if I buy from FFG directly(and also I need to pay 25% tax on top of it all...)

Im starting to get a bit worried that the "preorder opportunity" is just that, the chance that your box contains the neat HC rulebook...

If this is the case, that we buy it "blind" hoping to get lucky Ive seriously misunderstood what FFG has announced. It was my understanding that anyone preordering now would get the preorder bonus.

Christian Peterson, the CEO of FFG, has confirmed that all individual pre-orders through their website will contain the hardcover rulebook and the art prints.

is this only through FFG website or any preorder?

Also, I do not see to be stated that EACH box would contain the bonuses, am I missing something?

That I don't know - whether store pre-orders do or not. Definitely check with your LGS first. But my perception from that statement is that ordering through FFG will get you the pre-order bonuses.

More support that this is the case is that the GenCon sales of TI4 come with a voucher to redeem - for S&H only - the pre-order bonuses. If they didn't come with every FFG-direct order, it seems strange that they'd give them to every GenCon purchaser.

they might give promos on GenCon just to hype the purchases though :(

I totally understand and appreciate your anxiety over this, but I'm 99.9% sure that this isn't the case =) I think you're worrying about nothing.

My FLGS said they know how many copies of the game they will get with the pre-order loot and that they'll sell them on a first come, first served basis at MSRP.

I am not in a posistion to preorder this game, so I hope not. But then again the claim sounds rather shady so I wouldn't take it at face value.

I placed a preorder with my local store as soon as they had it up on site, if i for whatever reason miss the hardcover book ill be very sad :/

Hopefully stores get some more info soon

My game store said they have no knowledge of getting any pre-order material. Their distributor said "You may be able to order it later, but don't hold your breath", apparently.
