Cheers. Either way we'll catch it (whatever "it" turns out to be) at some point!
Last day before wave 7 is announced - get your final guesses in here!
If it is the venator what role would it serve? A large broadside ship?

Yeah, rebels have a front and a broadside large, about time Imperials catch up on that (although all I want is an Ion Cannon/Offensive retrofit dual for the belly laser that adds like an extra attack with a few dice at close range with unique crit effect, but is balancedly expensive)
For imperials to get a broadside ship, it can't be a space triangle. They have strong front arcs specifically because the arrowhead shape lets more guns on the sides point forward.
So if there's a bigger version of the Aequitens out there, or something else non triangular they can have a broadside heavy hitter.
I like that it's the Rebels who specialize in broadsides and the Imps in frontal batteries. It lends a distinctive play style to each faction.
I feel that a large base broadside Imp ship would dilute this.
Just my personal take, of course. ![]()
Absolutly, Large base broadside ship with 5 squadron and a lot of red dice but light shields, armor and slow to compensate.
MC-75 and Finalizer

5 Squadron would be way too much for the Empire right now which JUST got the perfect carrier.
But yes, the Empire needs a good broadside ship and Venator would be ideal for this.
MC-75, Venator, and Executor SSD for new epic play format.

I was going to post something very similar.
Wasnt thrilled that rebels got a swarm fighter in a similar vein for example.

While I agree with the principle, the venator in RotS seemed quite broadside-y

The only thing I don't like about it is that I have to buy 5 squadron packs to get a Z-95 swarm going. There is nothing else in that pack I want more than 1 or 2 copies of.
Z-95 squadron pack with 8 squadrons please!

1) It was a Republic vessel with a Republic feel. The Imperial faction flies differently.
2) In most of the shows I've seen, the venator fights enemy ships while pointing right at them. It isn't without guns that shoot to the side, but neither is the ISD.
3) Gameplay should trump all else. If the two factions start flying exactly the same - what's the point?
My guess : Something like a campaign box with alternate titles for Ships.

I think that may have been more due to "yay WWII naval battles! EVERYONE GETS A BROADSIDE!"
Mmmm I would say, new campaign with new refit for some ships for example vic and neb.
mc75 for rebels medium ship
Resurgent class big one and maybe the first one with 3 antisquadron dice un one version.
I love daydreaming xD
Time for one last little prediction?
If it's a two ship wave, Venator and MC-75. If it's a four ship wave, add in the Dornean gunships and the Imperial Listening ships from Rebels.
Venator as like a scaled up Arquittens: a broadsider, but one whose side arcs are definitely angled more forward. I'd say very narrow front arc and wider rear arc, so that it's still in keeping with the general "point at your enemy" approach of the Imperials. One version which is combat focused, one more squadron focused.
MC-75 I have no idea really, but when it featured so heavily in Rogue One (and looked so **** cool), it's hard to look past it as a contender. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say more hull than the MC-80s, and some black dice in some arcs - make it meaner than its counterparts to go with that shark-like profile.
As for the small ships, I'd even guess flotillas. Dornean gunships as anti-fighter focused, and the listening ships as more strategic, adding to things like slicer tools with other cool upgrades.
Hoping for: Dual-faction Dreadnought + 1 small ship for each side (Tartan and, a CR90 variant maybe)
Expecting: MC-75 and Venator
Ooooh... I almost forgot that this will be the Xmas wave this year. Then maybe we'll get the Dreadnought after all ![]()

So its happening, we just don't have much more than the description. (Which you can find in the appropriate Armada Off-Topic Thread)

I hadn't known about that before, if we see that then that might be the most exciting thing at gencon for me then, I've been wanting an FFG Star Wars game that had you controlling large ground battles! Finally we will be able to play out pretty much anything from the films, the Battle of Yavin (X-Wing), Battle of Hoth (new game), Battle of Endor (X-Wing, Armada, Imperial Assault), Battle of Scarrif (Armada, Imperial Assault).

I will buy anything called Finalizer
Actually I think I already got 3

Pelta, HH, Cr90, NeB and MC80 Liberty strongly disagree with your statement. Also the Arquitens does, from the other side of the field.

I am sad that I called it correctly. ![]()

Well Imperial ships features 0,2 more dice average per ship from broadsides hulls than Rebel ships.
Did anyone guess nothing??? Cuz if so they win.

A filthy promise counts as something.
