Feh! Epic Battles!

Final combat never has and never will (not even with EB) count as a win, hence it'll always be avoided. Also, barring houserules, why even have the Red EB deck if you're not going to see it?

Monsters, so-so, wouldn't mind, not a big deal though. Investigators, you mean Wendy, Patrice, Lily, Rex
? Skill, meh. Extra Elder Sign, making it easier to get them (4 in 98 vs 5 in 110, that's 1 in 24.5 vs 1 in 22
)??? No way. Doom token removal for $5? PASS! Also, see Wendy. Allies? Oh, you mean those people you get from STABLE locations
with the risk-reward 110% in the reward column? GTFO! At least someone like Prof. Rice, a truely powerful Ally, going for him at Wizard's Hill, you're risking "a gate and a monster appears". Like you say, Darrell + doom token spamming is pretty easy.

I can't help it if the rest of the AH community are a bunch of girly-men
! Whaa, monster surges add doomers, whaa!

? If you're not collecting Clues, shopping at Curiositie or closing/sealing gates, you're wasting time in my book (which granted has few words and lotsa pics). Saving the world means going about the business of saving the world, not having ladedaa picnics around towns just for encounters (meaning non-Clue stable locations).
). If competitive, I win or lose, hopefully win after crushing opponents
(preferrable via PvP). AH presents some of the hardest challenges for winning, which is part of the reason I love the BGotW Herald. When it is used, I know my absolute A-game is needed. Everything has to go pretty much according to plan or the GOO will wake up.
Between CoC OST and those two albums it'll be more than enough. I must have them! As an aside, try out your favorite games with mood music sometime. It really does add a metric ton of ambiance.
