Quad Snapwings

By Vineheart01, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So this is a list i made up literally so i could fly all 4 of my Arwings in a regular game (the custom StarFox cards require 150pts to field the whole squad sadly and i dont know where to get the blank slates to just make my own cards) and had no intentions of it being competitive. But its never lost yet....and ive ran it probably a couple dozen times over the past 4 months

Green Squadron A-Wing: 19 (24)pts x3 (72)pts
Snapshot (2)
PTL (3)
VT (2)
Title (0)
Chaar Refit (-2)

Jake Farrell: 24 (27)pts
Snapshot (2)
PTL (3)
Title (0)
Chaar Refit (-2)

Total: 99pts

Jake is in there because otherwise its got a 5pt bid at a PS that it doesnt really need it and he has a triple action economy (getting the barrelroll from his ability while still being tokened up)
This is entirely a list of positioning if it wasnt obvious. Evade action if you dont need a boost/roll because you are going to get shot and you need to survive as long as possible. Setting up traps with multiple snaps is key, and with boost/roll its surprisingly easy to get it. Somehow i havnt lost with this, though i havnt taken it to a tournament yet. Whether i'm just lucky, actually that good, or this list is stronger than i think it is i have no idea.
I have gone against alot of the bigger threats with it though and still done well. Denym being the only one i havnt yet and thats probably the main one that would give me crap tbh.

Glad massed snap shots are working for people. It's probably one of my favourite pilot abilities at the moment.

I have a snapswarm squad I want to try (5 x Omega Squadron Pilot, Snap Shot, Primed Thrusters), so I ought to break it out at some point.

Its incredibly difficult to get used to but its so nasty when it works. The awesome part of the Awings doing it (or in my case Arwings) is the green turn combined with double reposition (or single + evade) makes them pretty difficult to pin down. Often my opponents bump one of them and get snapped by 1-2 others that also have an evade token.

Other downside is it can lead to a long game if the green dice are hot. I had one game wednesday that took almost 2hrs because his 2 TIEs and my Awings just WOULD NOT TAKE DAMAGE lol. He couldnt hit the broadside of a barn and despite getting 2-3 snaps off a turn plus 2-3 attacks i couldnt get through the 3agi lol.

The main reason i started using snapshot spam is the mindgames. I love lists that mess with people's priorities or flight patterns. Its amusing how badly people will try to dodge that trap, only to fly into another trap i had set up in case he tried to flee.
