Only stated that Imperial Assault is widely accepted to be 28-30, and they were quoted in Legion to be 34.

But people have pictures, so my deductions are naught compared to actual visual medium...

Have to keep remembering that "28mm" scale isn't actually a scale and its a stupidly nebulous affair in the first place...

(IE, Does that mean 28mm to the eyes as the old scale, or 6' = 28mm in the new application of the old scale. Is it True Scale or Heroic Scale, because that changes things, too.... etc, etc, etc.)

Not prepainted minifigs. And I don't like painting people...

There is a difference, but its not drastically so... Shores up about the 10% measure quoted (given the exaggeration of size and pose)

You're right. The bases are also about 10%, just counting pixels.

It doesn't seem prohibitive at all for integration, depending on how purist you want to be, and how flexible the ruleset will be regarding base sizes.

In the casual side, of course... But with the specifically different sculpts, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they made it a line in the Organised Play for Legion to only use Legion models...

Seriously, though, it might seem like FFG will try to maintain revenue by insisting that IA and Legion remain incompatible, but it's also possible that they could blow my mind and let you use IA models in Legion, with stats. If I didn't have to wait for years to put an AT ST, Palpatine, Han, etc on the table, then I would be a 100% day one buy in.

And if they do insist on the games being incompatible, I have no idea how they will answer the immediate and rampant houseruling that will take place. I mean, they've given us wave after wave of sculpted plastic that works perfectly for this. If they don't provide the rules, the community can easily make their own, and it would add so much more than the officially releases I don't know how FFG could compete with themselves.

Because, as mentioned - The Organised play scene.

If it is mandated so, then you'll need the stuff anyway... At the very least, to pop out and replace on the spot at a tournament, if need be...

They don't necessarily have to care about the casual scene... FFG's games have always rotated around getting a solid, robust Organised Play system going.

Well after learning Leia is his sister he was a regular customer at Kentuckys Fried Gungans and now he has to domsome workout against Vader and some Stormtroopers.

IA Luke is standing higher than Legion Luke so the difference is a little bit more.

Runewars is 48 for $100 as a comparison.

With 2D terrain only.

And the "base" model in this is going to be a little larger than the Runewars ones.

It was mentioned somewhere that the Core box would include terrain but this will surely be 2D cardboard terrain.

I've wondered this about other similar games as well, like that strategy one with the Napoleonic-era soldiers. Beautiful scenery - hills, houses, trees, etc. Used in Tourneys. I was wondering how people made it. Is it custom? Provided for tourneys by the companies/store?

Its always made by someone.

Games workshop, for example, has one person who works in their Memphis Location, and a small team in Nottingham, who does all of their Terrain and Diorama work for their photoshoots.

In stores, its a mix between things that are readily purchased (and generally still need painting/setting), and what the store has either made or purchased off people... Some people (like myself) are somewhat reknown terrain builders and we just do that sort of thing, offloading it to stores as donations or in exchange for small product, etc.

It's very likely that if this game is a sucess third party manufacturers will do terrain that fits into the Star Wars universe

That's true, the Organized Play aspect does throttle playful innovation quite a bit.

It's very hard to get communities of players to step away from official formats. Hopefully, however, the widespread availability of IA miniatures, compared to the expected dearth of available Legion miniatures at the outset will entice people to color outside the lines early on.
