Isn't he working on the production side of the Star Wars stuff these days? I could swear I heard him in an interview talking like he wasn't just doing voice work, but was also part of the creative team as well ( I think it was an episode of the O66, possibly their Force Awakens talk session? Or maybe Rogue One?). So he might not even really need some new "meal ticket".
Did anyone else see this Sam Witwer tweet?
You folks have your opinions, I have mine.
Since this isn't a discussion about rules, there's no "right answer" to be had.
Allegedly there are people that think Adam Sandler and Rob Scheider are great comedic actors. Or that Freddie Mercury of Queen was the single worst frontman in the history of music. I think those people are out of their gorram minds, but at the end of the day, it's their opinion.
You don't like that I think Witwer is overrated? Deal with it, because he's not done a single thing to make he change my low opinion of him, and all the snide remarks isn't helping your case.

He did minor voice-over work for bit characters in both films. So he's working, but it's nothing glamorous or really attention-getting either, and really is about the same as being an extra in a film scene.
But since The Force Unleashed series has been put six feet under and Maul finally got dispatched for good in Rebels, he's not exactly got anything "high profile" that would get him noticed waiting in the wings.

Nah, man...like what ya like. (If I had a nickel for every person who's told me - often profanely - how "wrong" I am to dislike Kevin Smith's work, why, I'd have enough to pay Kevin Smith to never work again. )
If I may, though...speaking as one who openly admits to his own similar biases (see above), it appears that you're letting your opinion of his professional output push you to draw conclusions regarding how something that's apparently all for fun (with the side bonus of some nice promotion for LFL and FFG) will be handled.

I'm not talking about the voice work, I know about that. I was under the impression that he had sort of transitioned over to production side of things to some degree with the Star Wars stuff.
It wouldn't surprise me to find out he is working on something with Filoni now, who will by now have completely finished on Rebels for about a year at least from a creative standpoint. It was said he was going to be in charge of different animation projects , pljral being the main thing here. Wouldnt surprise me to have another 2 series spring up, maybe in a lot of different eras.

Could everybody just stop arguing about whether or not Sam Witwer is good or not?
Nobody cares about your opinions except yourself.
I'm subbing to this thread to find out when the stream is on, not to read about people arguing about who likes Witwer or not.
I'm in. Hopefully it will shed some light on this great gaming system as well.

This guy gets it.
"Actual Play"s are a drag. There's The Adventure Zone and, in a lesser form, the RPG episodes of TableTop --both highly EDITED--and then there's a bunch of very lovely people with generous, creative, unedited content that I won't give a minute of my time to.
Witwer's will, tragically, be another casualty of the "Let Me Tell You About My Last Game Session In Great Detail From The Perspective Of Only My Character" fallacy.
The value of seeing/hearing unedited RPG sessions is that you can see how other people play, or how a game is played at all, when you don't have other players yourself.
That said, edited sessions are much more entertaining, in general. Trimming away some of the false starts, pointless mechanical discussion, and table chatter greatly increases viewer/listener engagement.

The same goes for hearing why you subscribed to this thread. People can talk about what they want.
I'm inbetween groups so watching these is the closest I'll get to roleplaying for now.
And I'm still fuzzy on the rules for using force powers so I'm hoping this might address that!

Sadly seems to be a truth of various live play podcasts/streams/shows.
I've come across only the occasional "Actual Play" that's actually been entertaining to listen to, with most of them being rather boring.
TableTop's approach in being edited rather than a ramble-fest is the exception. A friend of mine was discussing a Star Trek Adventures live-play (not sure if it was Geek & Sundry's Shield of Tomorrow series or not) with the first three hours just being the players talking in-character about all sorts of fluff stuff before they even got on board their ship to properly begin the planned adventure, and even when they did get to stuff involving mechanics (the reason he was listening, in a hope to get a better feel for how the system operates) they butchered the rules fairly badly to the point that anyone hoping to learn the actual rules from this live-play wouldn't get much out of it.
Now, an episode of TableTap that featured FFG Star Wars with Sam Stewart in that role (who is a very entertaining in that role), perhaps with one or two of the main voice cast of Rebels, would probably not only be entertaining to watch but also do more to positively advertise the game's existence and how it works than an unedited ramble-fest would.
One of the reasons I liked that Dragon Age game they run with Witwer playing in so much!

Hear, hear.
Get SamStew GMing and SamWit playing and I'm ALL in.
Get noted roleplayer Deborah Ann Woll on it, too, and I'll die happy.

I'm with you - to me, they serve better as podcasts I can listen to while I'm doing some other task that requires little brain power, like mowing a pasture. Even then, the number of quality podcasts is buried under piles of poor attempts. I mean really, who mispronounces "Coruscant" when they say it in the movies multiple times?
That said, I'd listen to this game Sam proposes.

I don't think he's a particularly great actor either, but he seems like a decent enough guy. I'd game with him at my table.
Tried numerous live play podcasts and hated every second of them. Ir just doesn't work. In your own sessions you filter out the static and bs but when you aren't a part of the group and just a fly on the wall then that doesn't work at all...
I love nerds getting down on how other nerds have fun.
It's all so passive aggressive.

Have you tried Campaign or One Shot? Or Dice for Brains? They're all heavily edited, and very engaging.

Or The Adventure Zone (just finished its 69-episode run) or Gamma Crawl X , neither of which need more plugs but this fanboi don't care.
Thanks. I will give them all a try.

I'll remember you said this...
It looks like something is going to happen.
If they did it as a podcast I could listen to whilst performing other chores, like I do with all my other actual play podcasts, then I'm in! Finding time to sit and watch is another matter entirely....

Not to sound rude or anything, but couldn't you just listen to the show and not watch it?
I mean, you can leave it on on the computer while you're doing chores and just not look at the screen...
