So I noticed, that Jord (in some regions better known as Earth) now has 2 production and 4 influence. This seems wrong. For one it is the opposite of what it used to have and I think every home-system need a bare minimum of 3 production (i.e. the cost of a carrier). It is possible that they have a second planet now, or start the game with something like Sarween Tools, but right now it just looks like an error.

Where did you see this?
I'm not sure. Maybe they have a two-planet system? Or some built-in ability to make units cheaper, or a static +1 production value.

Holy resources, Batman... Unless the other systems have changed too, this is easily the best system in the game (by TI3 standards anyway). Cool!
I'm surprised they didn't make the two planets Earth and Luna, since the Sol logo looks like it represents binary planets (which is what the Earth/Moon basically are, astronomically). There's a precedent, too... The Norr system of Quinarra and Tren'lak are home planet and its ice moon, respectively. I can't see how they could justify giving Luna a 3/1 stat, though, so Mars makes sense. Love the oceans.
Edit... waaait, I don't think that's from TI4! You tricksy devil!
Edited by MikeEvansIsnt the Sol logo a representation of Sol and Jord?
Which, btw, is the swedish words for Sun and Earth, though perhaps in other languages as well.
Maybe they need not much production, because of the racial abilities:
QuoteOrbital Drop (spend CC to place 2 Infantry on planet you control) & Versatile (gain +1 CC during Status phase)

It is the same ability they always had, and it wouldn't really help, if there starting carrier would get destroyed before they could take any other plants. Your should always be able to built at lest one carrier with your home-worlds resources.

It's also entirely possible their starting Carrier cost is 2; but that seems unlikely as pretty powerful.
