Now this is a GREAT THROWBACK

By Seanboy21, in Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game 30th Anniversary Edition

I had this way back. Great to see it come back as a Collection piece. Well done.

Would be nice if they did a full re-release of all the old West End material.

I'd almost bite if it didn't have the forward or the "advertisements". It would be great as a straight re-release without extras that could drive up the cost.

I Wonder if this is a one time thing or a taste of things to come.

I own the original, but I'll happily shell out for this, in hopes that it would mean renewed support for a D6 line. :)

There is a lot to be said for the simplicity of this old system. I wish I still had my original copies. I will be buying these.

Is $60 for two books really driving up the cost?

I will buy several copies. I sure hope there could be a print-on-demand option for ALL the WEB material like WOTC does with their out-of-print D&D modules on DriveThruRPG. I did polling on Google+ a few months back and as many (or maybe more) people still play Star Wars d6 than the newer FFG version (I own both). I definitely think there's a market there.

I would love to see the old d6 system make a comeback with old books and new. I realize this is a one-shot, but a guy can dream, right?

Well, West End Games has seen a revival. Somebody bought the brand and (I assume) their licenses and has been attempting to revive some of their old games, at least by reprinting them. I bought something made by WEG off of DriveThruRPG and have gotten a few emails from West End Games detailing some of their product revivals, though nothing I was interested in. Don't know if it's still a thing or not. The d6 system might see a renaissance, though anything Star Wars related is assuredly not going to happen.

Their has been a number of throwback comebacks in recent times notably the much beloved 7th sea rpg by John wick presents. Star wars d6 was in part instrumental in keeping star wars alive in people's minds after the end of rotj. But I love all these comebacks look at Torg another weg property that was successfully kick started. Yes I got both of the games above still waiting on the Torg hardback...giddy. Good times for the rpg players good times
