My major frustration with TI is a practical one. Please do something about the game box. A way to seperate the pieces of the game, the tiles etc. I had to use plastic bags and little plastic recipients to be able to get it to a doable level in 3th edition... Please fix this for the 4th edition!

I hope that TheBrokenToken creates a board game organizer for this game. Even if it costs as much as the game itself, I'll gladly pay it. If not, I'll break out some wood and my woodworking tools and do it myself.

Here's how I organized my copy of TI3 and both expansions, which all fits in the core game box:

Yeah I really should get to work on a better system. But for the 4th edition who is probably goona cost about 150€ I would really like to see something 'out of the box'. I don't think that's asking to much?
I've seen a fair few games that come with a plastic insert to keep everything organized. Frankly I prefer my system that has everything separated, and then placed into another seperation between whether it is a faction specific item, colour specific item, or common area item. Set up occurs really fast. Putting it all away nicely takes some time. I'm using bags right now. I'd prefer boxes.

An understandable request. Although, how do you find a organizational system that a.) pleases everybody, b.) does not add a huge cost to the game's price, and c.) does not broadcast future plans for the game or lack thereof?
On a side note, I actually enjoy organizing my games. There's something about turning chaos into order that is very relaxing for me.
Edited by Wh0isTh3D0ct0rI used to use 3rd-party organizers and baggies and all that, but then I found out how easy it is to make custom foamcore organizers, and have never looked back.
Be your own Broken Token. It isn't hard. This playlist is a good start (be sure to watch in order).

I've made foam boxes. I've actually got two in my TI3 box right now. They hold the Action and Political cards, both in storage and during game play. I prefer the heft and precision of wood, though, so I plan to go that route this time around. That might have to do with being a luthier in real life... I've got a think for well-made wooden things. The problem with making my own wood boxes is that it's time I simply don't have as a father and business owner. That, and I'm a perfectionist so I'd spend forever on them.
I kinda want to get my own laser cutter and make my own inserts that way someday...
I posted my laser cut storage boxes a while ago. Unfortunately, photobucket is now charging for image hosting and all the pics in that thread no longer work.
When I get home from gencon, I'll see about hosting the pics somewhere else.
Well N, looks like you got your wish. The box comes with a big vacuformed insert with compartments for the hexes and cards, big deep wells for the plastic figs (which don't need to be cut off sprues) and space for other stuff.
My God, it's full of stars...
Oh my god, thank you so much FFG.
@Wh0isTh3D0ct0r: You can't find a system that pleases everyone, but that's not a reason to just do nothing I also like to organize myself some stuff but an empty box at the start is just a lack of finishing in my opinion.
All a moot point since they are gonna do something at least Made my day.
Edited by NostradamusThe plastic insert is helpful, but once you put sleeves on your cards they no longer completely fit in the provided slots, and it becomes painful to keep all the faction tokens separated and organized. I ended up taking the insert out and just putting everything in Ziplock bags. I've started a custom foam core insert, but am also very hopeful that somebody like BrokenToken makes an insert. If not, I'll probably end up getting a toolbox with separation trays.

Sleevin g is where I ran into issues as well. Doesn't fit. Just bought a few items from the broken token and we will see how it goes.
They went out of their way and made a plastic insert ... and they did it in a way, so it does NOT accommodate cards sleeved in the sleeves they advertise on the back of the box????
Oh FFG, well at least you took the first step to making useful inserts...

I'd be curious to see if you were successful with the stuff from Broken Token. I really like their inserts for Terraforming Mars and Lords of Waterdeep. I'm hopeful they put something out for TI4 - even if it's a total box replacement like they did for Lords of Waterdeep. I've made some stuff with foam core and it's okay, but will likely not last over time.
Bought a couple of these just for the cards.

Tried to get all of them to fit into one of them but they wouldn't fit. Yes they are sleeved. Needed two. First time buying from them. Nice product. Now to figure out a clean OCD way of storing the race bits. Plastic baggies aren't cutting it for me
Do you find that you're able to stand it up on it's side during the game so you can draw cards from it too, or are you only using it to store cards?
Yea man, that looks awesome. Thanks for the pictures!
