While checking my Facebook feed I got a "on this day" notification that a year ago today was the day my wave 3 and 4 orders arrived from coolstuffinc and it's got me thinking about all the things that have happened since then.

-Survived the "death" of Armada (Admiral Nelson has poor foresight)
-Saw a weekly 8+ members Armada group rise
-Tried and failed to use each of the wave 4 ships correctly
-Clocked some 100+ games over 4 months
-The release of wave 5 and CC
-Became the leader of a 7+ member group when the old leader moved
-Played a CC campaign
-Joined the forums
-Watched 4 more people lose interest and leave the group
-Created the Squadron Command Plates
-Hosted my first tournament (and played in it)
-Played in my first store championship (and got last place)
-Gained new players in local group
-Survived the "death" of Armada.... again... (Flotilla hate finally locked behind the floodgates after nerf)
-The release of wave 6
-Hosted a store championship (Got to meet Bigs IRL!)
-fell in love with wave 6
-Won a store championship



I had a ton of cool stuff happen, and a lot of firsts, anyone else feel like Armada has been an Adventure so far?

Let us give thanks for Moff JJ, QBTs and Disposable Capacitors. Who would have thought we would see the VSD-II become potent without even so much as a FAQ in its favour.

Played a ton more this year! Really hoping that by the end of this year I'll be saying "Yup - 2017 was the year I finally got that 2 1/2-foot long Super Star Destroyer for Armada!

Im realitively new to the forums here, and i keep seening the same name tied to the death of armada.

So i gotta know, who is Admiral Nelson?

Or rather why is he synonimus with the apparent passing of the zombie we know as armada?

or depending on who you ask... a former user who freaked out during the lull between waves... I wanna say 2 & 3. They preached that the Armada end times were at hand. Everyone told him to chill and wait for GENCON. He said stuff it and left. GENCON came around... new wave announced. They passed into legend.

That's my recollection, though I admit it's been awhile.

Ah...... I searched him and his posts out and im only just now scratchin the surface. Honestally seem like dude whent off the deep end. And now its like a rabbit hole, I have to know how crazy this guy got to have a frame of reference. I get the feeling that hes like that myan calandar.... intersting to look at, but it echos empty profacies of doom from a bygone era and is now no more than a novelty.

AdmiralNelson's account was deleted on the old forum, but it was recreated as the forum changeover took effect.

I mean, his IP side of things (or even the account) might be on indefinite ban... But the account exists once more .

This guy posted a tldr longer than his original post......... that like puttin an answer to an equasion up then saying if thats to hard for you heres the unsolve equasion. Mind you that may be the least of this posts hilarious problems and amalgimations of words. But hey beggars cant be choosers and professors aparently dont need grammar or sentence structure.

IIRC he was actually peeved at the release of the flotillas (I still subscribe to the Wave Thour theory), but he has passed from mere fact into legend, like Classic Ben.

Yeah i kept up on this one. It went from reasonable to gasoline river full of tires on fire nuts.

Ill be honest stuff like this keeps me out of going to tournaments ( for most games). Because i see things like this and i run into their real life counterparts, i think 'there isnt enough beer in the county to keep me here'

I dunno, Boris' meltdown didn't become a meme yet. Frequently enough everyone bemoans the apocalypse, without ever getting anywhere near that.

Im ok with staving off the invisible specter of doom for a while.

Kind of.

Ben inspired the meltdown. Ben was not the one who did the melting, if that makes sense...

It was someone else bemoaning "Ben" as part of a total meltdown, that made the "Classic Ben" possible.
