Ability idea - "Action:" cards

I thought about this ability:

"After performing an action on a card that says 'Action:' you may acquire a focus token if you do not already have one."

FAQ clarification might be that it also triggers if the 'Action:' card is on Youngster rather than the ship itself.

Is there room for this ability? Would it fit on an astromech, a pilot card, an EPT, crew? How could it be broken? Would it make expose viable?

Getting multiple results for a single action is always a good avenue to mine.

Off the top of my head, I'd say don't make it an EPT as most of the examples of this kind of ability helping out I can think of come from there. R2-F2 would love for this not to be an astromech.

Teaming this ability with Experimental Interface might be problematic, depending on the chassis the come together on. Maybe not too bad, but something to watch.

Might give Expose a leg up, though I probably still wouldn't use it due to personal taste.

More likely wording:

"After you use the Action on one of your upgrade cards you may acquire a Focus token if you do not already have one."

Because it has to be one of YOUR upgrade cards that would keep it from working with an Action used via Youngster's ability.

Where would it go? You've got all kinds of choices and what would really keep it from showing up multiple places?" Would/could it be broken? A lot of that would depend on the cost associated with this ability; if it's expensive enough it may not break anything but as the cost goes down the potential for breaking things goes up dramatically. Sure it would combo wonderfully with some other Action upgrades but in any event you'd be giving a ship one of the most useful tokens in the game even if there isn't great synergy.

Sounds like a pilot ability to me rather than an upgrade card.

I would love it if it didn't limit the ability to upgrade cards, so that you could use it on face up damage cards as well. Are you flipping over Console Fire? Get a focus token. Trying to repair your Structural Damage? Free focus token. I think that would add to the fun.

I came up with some stats for a ship a couple days ago and posted it on here, but with no pilot abilities. Could I use this for Kasan Moor in a V-Wing Airspeeder?

See, now I want this to be an x-wing pilot ability, and to use R2-F2 on him. Three green dice x-wing, baby!

That's an interesting concept and if you limited this free Focus token to when you perform a Damage Card: Action you could even make it very cheap (free less the slot cost) and it probably wouldn't break anything.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone can use this for any purpose.
