Timeline Stuff - how much difference is there between 3E and the 2E sourcebooks?

By keltheos, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

I've been playing Warhammer since the 3rd edition, and played Warhammer RP back when it was the first edition. I loosely remember most of the timeline material from the minis game over four editions (soon to be five), but it sounds like the 3E set rolls back the 2E fluff 'canon' to pre-Storm of Chaos times.

Of course, my brain's bubbling over with all the adjustments over time the setting's undergone. Does anyone have some good links or details on where this is going to affect things from the fluff standpoint if I or other players start delving into the older RP materials for adventure hooks/location details?

For some of the 2nd edition stuff, it matters that it's after the storm of chaos (3rd edition is just before it). However, many adventures are more or less ambivalent to this fact. I would have problems adapting the Thousand Thrones campaign to the new setting, but the Paths of the Damned would work with a little adjustment
