Painting Guides' terrain

By K Peterson, in Runewars Painting and Modeling

Here's a random question, as my first post on FFG's Community forums:

Scattered through the Army Painter painting guides, for the Daqar and the Waiqar, are what look like manufactured terrain - not scratch-built stuff. I'm curious if anyone knows who might be the manufacturer? Or maybe someone knows who produces a close facsimile.

For example, on page 10 of the Waiqar guide, there's a unit of Reanimates crossing a bridge with an autumn tree in the right foreground and a few buildings - one in the left foreground, and a number on the other side of the bridge. The buildings look like they could be from Tabletop-World , a Croatian online seller with amazing-looking medieval/fantasy buildings.

One page 1, and 16, of the Daqar guide, are some castle/tower walls. They don't look like Hirst Blocks, and maybe they are scratch-built. If they're not pre-fab, they look really well done.

I'm just curious because I love evocative fantasy buildings like those examples.

Looks like the answer is: no, no one knows . :)

I think I saw a blog post about someone creating the tables the gen con demos were played on.
So most likely the pictures used for books and news post use terrain made by someone who is hired by ffg to make custom terrain.
but yeah, like you said no one knows for sure.

you could try sending them an email, because ffg staff do not reply on the forums.

I remember that blog as well, no idea where it was now though.

Very cool. Thank you!
