ARGH THAT BOAT IS SLOW <Rant>

By Bibbles, in Mansions of Madness

Wow! When they list that something new for either MOM 2ed or Arkham horror LCG is on the boat it eats at me. I wonder how slow that boat is moving. It feels like its travelling backwards in time. I imagine 15 burly Innsmouth sailor types in heavy wool sweaters laughing off the side of the leaky slow moving tugboat while others sit on the deck playing all the new add ons. I imagine them pulling into port somewhere off course and partying with the locals, letting them all see the new gear, then pulling out of port only to turn back the way they came cuz someone is worried they left the garage door open. Finally they set course for wherever it is that my copy will be shipped out of only to run out of diesel which doesn't bother any of the Innsmouth sailors cuz they all get off on upsetting me........

They either need a faster boat or some sort of medication I can take to fill me with a greater sense of patience.:o Might help if I didn't check every day. :P I could also learn to not take it so seriously or personally.

Man am I jazzed about the streets of Arkham. My goal is to have everything I own painted and the second I open the new box to prime everything and have at least some nice base colours and detailed bases on everything before we play the first scenario. Not one of my friend think I can be patient enough for that...Not even my own wife.

I don't think they realize how fast I can paint nor that I'm planning to take the day off work to get em done. :)

We are doing a 1920s costume party for that night with some Lovecraftian inspired snacks. I was thinking of dressing as the characters we are gonna play but thankfully realized that a middle aged balding pudgy white guy with a beard might look foolish dressed as a courageous athletic black woman....

Anyone else as delusionally excited as I am?

Hate to break this to you, but Streets of Arkham is still at the printer... The interminable boat trip is still yet to come! Path to Carcosa, on the other hand, has only been in the boat for about 7 weeks, it can be up to 3 months, but I'd expect something before too long for AHLCG, less optimistic about timescales for MoM!

I imagine Carcosa will be available at GenCon, and in the shops max 15 days after that. No idea for Streets.

Isn't Streets due in Q4?

I'm crying inside and it appears that Gerald Zodd is working for the Martense Kin and their gangrenous malevolent printing press that also vexes me so :D.

Before clicking on the topic, i thought this would be about the boat in "escape from innsmouth"... which was how we died in flames on our first try :P

Interestingly, this *is* the same boat. FFG have their games printed in a decrepit coastal town in China, inhabited by monstrous human/seamonster hybrids to cut costs.

Every time a product comes off the printer, a desperate team of 'gators have to risk their lives to get the merchandise on a boat an skip town. Which accounts for any delay before the product status changes to "shipping". ;)

ARGH!!!!!! This must be the curse of Dagon. Those damnable eyes that stare so deep and rotten into my very patience. Prodding and tormenting at me with its amazingly slow boat. I'm jonesing guys get me some Arkham Horror Files gaming products ASAP!!!!!

As an aside I broke out my copy of Chaosium's Arkham Horror and we gave it another whirl......DOES NOT STAND TEST OF TIME!!!

Such memories we once shared ye olde sh@$$y board game of my youth. Wow some of those were better when I was 14.

The slow crawl has begun . I was hoping to get the new MOM expand sions by halloween. I do horror board games all October and it would have rounded out the end for me perfectly. This saturday we are doing Zombie Apocalypse games in the dark. Nothing but penlights and mood lighting with a 120 song soundtrack filled with classics. Woot.

Happy Halloween to everyone even the slow moving deep ones on the slow boat form Dunwich.

It's not said you won't be getting it in October. Arkham Nights is happening next w-end, and they said Streets will be on sale there, so, possibly it won't be too long for regular distribution

The boat always has to make a port-of-call at R'lyeh first, then go to the US! ^(;,;)^

Exactly, because Cthulhu demands his hand-delivered proof copy before any AH product becomes available to the public. It's a hassle, but remember what happened to the Elder Things when they forgot once - literally aeons of war.

So, swim, watery minions! Shove that blubbing boat across the waves!

And get here before Halloween......PLEEEEEEEEZE!!!!!! The stars are right for this I can feel it in my pineal gland!!!!!

You know, rumor has it that every time someone posts in this thread, the ship moves backwards 2 weeks... :D:D:D

Hmm, time travel... <_< That means the bloody Hounds of Tindalos could complicate matters.

Well, friends, you know the drill — avoid all angles of 120° or less, stop taking that Liao and sit tight until Cap'n Obed gets this boat past Devil's Reef into the Innsmouth harbor... Kindly direct any questions to our resident transdimensional mathematician @KeziahMason who will try to reply last tuesday or earlier...

I'm risking it and posting. The Old Ones be darned!!!!

It looks like a teaser news post was put up. Thats right all the same info Ive been feeding myself over these long months and it appears to have been cruelly posted so as to vex me. To raise my hopes that the boat will deliver it all before Halloween.

IF THAT HAPPENS I CAN RUN A NEW ADVENTURE FOR HALLOWEEN....WOOOT.

BTW FF as you have DLC capabilities I would love an Xmas and Halloween scenario. Heck a nice Valentines romance theme adventure that uses alot of influence rolls, something that has been sort of lacking would be great.

My guess is that, to get the game before Halloween, you need a ship, a plan, and an armed crew that is ready for anything… But I hope, I am wrong. ;)

Unfortunately I will have to wait probably until Spring to get the ITA translated version for my group - but can't wait for the SoA steam update: it should bring the ITA translation of Dark Reflections online! New scenario for my team! Hooray!!!

Finished painting the last of my MoM figures two days ago. At least I'll still be in practice when the new stuff arrives in the next week or two.

I bought a new street texture roller to do the minis. Im aiming at having them all don't before the first game. Its gonna be a tight one. Im gonna hold off playing for as long as I can.

:(Aw man!!! When does the next expansion come out.......;)

Just kidding.
