I'm thinking of trying out the Imperial Firespray. How can I make this a viable ship in today's meta?
Imperial Firespray
I have actually had a decent amount of success with Imperial Boba, though im not sure its tournament capable. Takes some time but its very rewarding and fun. You really have to learn how to fly him to have a chance but using this and Whisper I have beaten a couple Meta Lists.....infrequently....but definitely had some wins. Not easy mode by any stretch, but really fun and unique to fly. Surprisingly tanky with Lone Wolf and Recon Spec. I have won a # of games against super dash in particular, one on one actually....which is pretty much like flying a against a completely better version of the Firespray. Can be a really solid closer. Mess up a maneuver though and go more than 1 round without rolling red dice and the game is probably over. Either way this is the best list I have found for Boba in particular.
You can put VI on him to have a slightly better chance against Nym I guess, but the top Meta stuff is challenging and you simply have to fly better than your opponent and roll nearly perfect dice modified primarily by focus to win.
| Boba Fett — Firespray-31 | 39 |
| Lone Wolf | 2 |
| Heavy Laser Cannon | 7 |
| Recon Specialist | 3 |
| Engine Upgrade | 4 |
| Ship Total: 55 | |
After that my next favorite way to fly the Firespray the bounty hunger with no upgrades ( besides maybe Intel Agent ). Its a large amt of health, decent # of green dice, 3 dice from two arcs and an ok dial to boot. Fits in with other stuff to, example below. If you get good enough at flying it + get lucky rolls you can do some work with it.
| Bounty Hunter — Firespray-31 | |
| Ship Total: 33 | |
| Spent sometime with the other pilots to...but found that the Imperial Firespray kinda lives and dies by your ability to arc dodge or stay at Range 3 and set up the next round. Otherwise your opponent will spend all day in your blind spot since you dont have a turret. So if your not at 8 or 9 or 10 you mine as well be at 3 to get blocks. |

I've been getting in some practice with this list lately:
| Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor | 17 |
| Twin Laser Turret | 6 |
| Lightweight Frame | 2 |
| Ship Total: 25 | |
| Sienar Specialist — TIE Aggressor | 17 |
| Twin Laser Turret | 6 |
| Lightweight Frame | 2 |
| Ship Total: 25 | |
| Krassis Trelix — Firespray-31 | 36 |
| "Mangler" Cannon | 4 |
| Ion Bombs | 2 |
| Weapons Engineer | 3 |
| Cruise Missiles | 3 |
| Extra Munitions | 2 |
| Long-Range Scanners | 0 |
| Slave I | 0 |
| Ship Total: 50 | |
Its proven to be quite a bit of fun to fly. Krassis takes a few TLs round 1 before trying to set up for a Cruise Missile shot. He sets up so he can then do a 4k to fire the other Cruise Missile, at the same time dropping an Ion Bomb before the 4k in hopes of messing with the enemies movement. The whole time you have the Aggressors orbiting, pinging in damage with TLTs.
I like all the input so far. Good advice.

The second one is solid ![]()
Quickdraw is a good dancing partner. Only issue is your opponent will target Boba Fett first and burn him down kinda quick. You will end up using his rear arc alot running for your life.
Thats why I like Whisper with Boba. They usually chase Whisper and then get surprised by Boba/Lone Wolf at the end.

Seeing red (100/100)

Firespray-31: Kath Scarlet (38 + 15)
+ Veteran Instincts (1)
+ "Mangler" Cannon (4)
+ Rebel Captive (3)
+ Andrasta (0)

+ Bomblet Generator (3)
Upsilon-class Shuttle: Kylo Ren (34 + 13)

Was looking at imperial crew that would help the firespray and i thought of something....
Boba w/ VI, EU, Andrasta, Bombletts, Ion Cannon, Mara Jade, and Cruise (cause i had an 8pt bid w/o it)
QD w/ VI, LWF, Title, PA, FCS, Cruise Missile
95pts so you got a 5pt bid (you could put a Conner Net or something on Boba but honestly i doubt you'll have the action economy for it)
Heres the evil thought process: enemy is at R1 of boba, gets stressed via Mara Jade. Mara Jade makes them want to do a green maneuver, and vast majority of ships would either burn their actions after said green maneuver or end up keeping the stress to do a fast enough maneuver to get away from the bomblett. If they dont, boom to the face.
He's PS10 and with a bid that high you can guarantee he's going last. And since he has an aux arc, odds are you will also shoot the guy.
Kath Scarlet can load on stress fairly well.
Tactician/A Score To Settle (or Calculation)/Ion Cannon is a combination which doesn't do much raw damage but does leave your opponent with a nasty set of choices: take one stress token and then either take another stress token or take one damage and one ion token.
A Mangler cannon is a nice option, too, as noted.
Theoretically, with agility 2 and primary weapon 3, a Firespray is well suited to use A Score To Settle/Agent Kallus - getting one free focus-to-evade, one free focus-to-hit and one free focus-to-crit without touching its action, allowing it to use its action every turn to evade. Throw that on Kath (who has the nice evading-a-critical-causes-stress ability) and you've got a nice, acceptably cheap ship which is actually pretty tasty in a one-on-one fight. Not using a cannon also means you get your ability out of your auxiliary arc, which is nice as Firesprays like to be chased.
- Kath Scarlet - Slave 1, A Score To Settle, Agent Kallus, Long Range Scanners
Is 40 points, allowing you to have, say, 3 TIE strikers or 5 TIE fighters to handle the rest of the enemy squad.
I like Boba with VI, Navigator and EU.
Very tricksey
I want to try this. Krassis Hux gives zetas an additional focus and auto damage. Krassis plinks in Manglar cannon shots with 1 reroll and a focus each turn he cant use on defense.
| Zeta Specialist — TIE/sf Fighter | 23 |
| Fire-Control System | 2 |
| Lightweight Frame | 2 |
| Special Ops Training | 0 |
| Ship Total: 27 | |
| Zeta Specialist — TIE/sf Fighter | 23 |
| Fire-Control System | 2 |
| Lightweight Frame | 2 |
| Special Ops Training | 0 |
| Ship Total: 27 | |
| Krassis Trelix — Firespray-31 | 36 |
| "Mangler" Cannon | 4 |
| General Hux | 5 |
| Ship Total: 45 | |
Might be tanker than people expect with all those shields and should crank out some damage.
There is a specific formation for flying SFs with Firesprays....i just havent figured it out yet since the Firespray is so incredibly fast.
Hux will slow down the Firespray though to using mode green 1s and 2 straight.
I imagine this would get arc dodged into oblivion but maybe not...lots of arc coverage.

Yeah I saw this list. I like a lot of it, I mean aside from the fact it's all built on an Upsilon and a Firespray there's a lot of very powerful cards in the list.
Starting with my suggestion earlier:
- Kath Scarlet - Slave 1, A Score To Settle, Agent Kallus, Long Range Scanners
That idea of pairing her with Kylo Ren is a nice one - because she gives you a devil's choice - dodge her attack and be stressed or get hit and be blinded.
If that's 40 points, you could pair her with a pretty effective Kylo Ren - using a Decimator and Kylo Ren crew makes it easier to put I'll Show You The Dark Side on the ship you intend to be her dancing partner (where A Score To Settle comes into its own).
- Rear Admiral Chiraneau - Dauntless, Veteran Instincts, Kylo Ren, Engine Upgrade
That leaves you the points to give Chiraneau either Gunner or Rebel Captive and something else cheap (or Hotshot Copilot but with A Debt To Pay it's probably less useful).
Edited by Magnus GrendelIve done pretty good with this list. Wanted to take it to a sc but ended up with my version of rebel junkyard.
TIE Phantom: •"Whisper" (42)
Advanced Cloaking Device (4)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
•Rebel Captive (3)
Firespray-31: •Kath Scarlet (44)
Guidance Chips (0)
•Slave I (0)
•A Score to Settle (0)
"Mangler" Cannon (4)
Tactician (2)
TIE Fighter: Academy Pilot (12)
Total: 98/100
Can switch academy with wampa if you want. Id like to fly it a few more times and see if it still holds up
